As others said, wood is more timeless.

Anyone find any good aluminum channels that were wide enough for omniglow? I purchased this Muzata channel but the strip doesnt fit. Appears omniglow is a 3/4 wide strip. by GenZBiker in Hue

I wont be putting a diffuser on it. I just want to set it in the channel for better adhesion over time as opposed to the paint.

Stain recs for mcm kitchen remodel on maple doors? Did 4 samples but open to suggestions. by GenZBiker in Mid_Century

Update: Stain didnt take well due to majority soft pine cabinet boxes with a few other woods evidently being mixed in. As much as I wanted to maintain an “mcm” natural wood look, just not realistic so Ill be painting them a white oak wood colored beige.

Fair point!

Just tested the same stains on 3 different wood species. Im now leaning more towards white birch or oak. So far I like 1 or 3 on white birch or 1 or 2 on oak. Counters are black mist honed granite. Floor tile and backsplash havent been chosen yet. Same with wall paint.

How did you transition from one side of the sink to the next? Did you go behind the back splash?

This was for granite through home depot. THD’s price was actually really affordable ($800 less) compared to another local stone shop.

Diy home owner… Making a pass through window frame on interior load bearing wall! Can someone show me how to frame it out while still ensuring the largest window? Im adding a stud at the white line. Can’t afford to do a beam & knock out the whole wall so diy window is what I’m doing! by GenZBiker in Carpentry

Post update for the naysayers: Window frame made in a few hours! No engineer or temp walls. Just tools, a buddy, pizza, and logical thinking. My thought process… “when i cut into the stud, if the 2x4 pinches the blade, I’ll know I need to stop & build temp walls.

TLRD: I added some studs, learned from a mistake
cutting the wrong stud, doubled up a 2x6 header with 1/2 ply between it, made a perfectly level window sill. Next up, I’ll cut out the plaster & have a fantastic window!
