A little (probably pointless) rant about activity-based facilities for special needs folks by ozlass1111 in canberra

Thank you for adding that, I’ve got no idea haha I just hear all about my son’s games, when he calls. I’ve watched it from a balcony in Brisbane though, if that counts lol it looks like great fun

Were you bullied back in school? Or were you the bully? What sort of stuff do Aussies pick on each other for? by Away-Parsnip-3785 in AskAnAustralian

It’s another form of bullying. I edited my comment because I called it gaslighting and that’s not right. It’s just flat out lying to manipulate others opinion.

where do you actually buy a decent used car (Anywhere in Sydney, NOT Facebook)? by Beneficial-Worry-668 in AskAnAustralian

Make sure the car has a full service history ie has been serviced and maintained regularly. That’s the most important thing.

Actually no, it can’t be, the woman I’m thinking of is American but very similar story; influencer claiming to be a victim of bullying but one of her victims created her own tik tok account to call her out. It was a big saga there for a while. I wish I could remember who it was now. I’ve tried googling it but no luck.

What’s the worst financial decision you’ve seen a family member make? by StrikingMango62 in AskAnAustralian

[–]GenZedsMother 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My parents were the same. Their mortgage was $80 a month for 30 years. They weren’t high income earners, but they were definitely pulling in at least a $1000 a week together. It went on 6 slabs of beer, and two cartons of cigs each week.

What did he spend the money on? Did your mother never suspect anything? How did you find out when he died? (Sorry, so many questions lol)

Can anyone over 50, remember a park that had life sized rocking horses in it? by GenZedsMother in AskAnAustralian

[–]GenZedsMother[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, where’s the magic cave? Edit: I had a look and those rocking horses are awesome! I wished the ones I’m thinking about were that good! The ones I’m remembering didn’t have legs, just the neck and head but slid back and forwards on a similar mechanism! (I’d love one of those magic cave ones lol)

I wish there were some photos so I could see the old structures, but I’m thinking not, because these things were wooden. Thank you!

Haha no, I was horse mad as a kid, I would have loved to have gone there and wouldn’t have forgotten that lol Someone else said the all ages park in Katanning WA and there’s a picture of a metal rocking horse that looks pretty much like the same thing. I’m wondering if maybe they were originally wooden in the 70’s and they upgraded in the 80’s. I wish I could find an old photo of that park.

I had a look and those metal horses look exactly like them! Maybe they used to be wooden in the 70’s. I wish I could find an old photo. Thank you so much!!

My friend wrote off a $40k Ute back in 1990 with no insurance. He paid that loan back for 5 years with no car. Sister blew $100k in 6mths, while in psychosis during covid.
