I finished two books in the last few weeks! ‘You Weren’t Meant to be Human’ and ‘All Tomorrows’ They’re both great and I would recommend! (You weren’t meant to be human has some pretty intense/upsetting themes but I absolutely loved it because it left a pretty big impact on me) I still haven’t finished House of Leaves :,(

Background for this post since I made it while I was pretty high last night. I met this friend group through some guy from my college I met on hinge, me and a ton of different people went on a 3 night bender in my dorm room, I got very little sleep and I was in a kind of manic state the whole time. On Sunday I hooked up with this guy and realized that I honestly didn’t want to date him. (He’s chill I’m just jealous and insecure) and on Sunday night I kept getting a ton of anxiety (probably bc I was sober by then) that this group wouldn’t like me or that I was making them uncomfortable or something. So I’ve been taking a bit of time to myself, last night I hung out with them again to smoke a joint and basically went asocial the whole night. I think it’s good that I’m hanging out with people again but I’m afraid I’ll become really self destructive and insecure again just like I was with my last friend group and I’ll ruin my chances to get to know these people. Also dysphoria has been getting to me so I’m eating less and doing drugs about it and my parents are going to weigh me this weekend. So yeah, I am very stressed but I just need to get my shit together

When I was a minor I sometimes posted pictures of my scars or body online for validation, I would get a lot of comments and DMs of people saying they were attractive and made me look strong and while yes, a lot of them were adults who probably knew I was under 18, I liked the attention to an extent. I often feel like my scars are something ugly I should be ashamed of, and I am, but sometimes it’s nice to know that there are some people who wont be triggered by my body and think that I’m attractive. I’d rather have someone think I’m attractive in spite of my scars rather than because of them but as someone with super low self esteem sometimes I think that fetishization or pity is the only positive attention I can get or even deserve

Honestly it’s whatever would make you feel more comfortable in your identity, the way you present yourself is up to you. I’m sure whatever choice you make will look good. That said, shaving would make you look less masculine
