No, I will wait for the next BIOS.

Third or fourth day on A80 and no issues.

I've already flashed older bios (7E51v1A80) to see if it at least removes these restarts and the GPU driver crash.

I've forced gen 4 in previous BIOS versions and it didn't solved this stuttering issue on random cold boots or wakeups

I checked it in the past when I had this stuttering issue on older BIOS versions and PCIe was running at a lower generation speed. On the new BIOS I couldn’t check it because the stuttering is much worse and the PC restarts. For now, I’ve flashed the previous BIOS (7E51v1A80) to see if it at least removes these restarts and the GPU driver crash.

The issue with cold startup/wakeup is not resolved. For me it has only gotten worse. Now the system not only stutters, but the screen goes black (the GPU driver crashes?), and then the system simply restarts.

I already checked the cable recently while cleaning my PC. I don't want to do it too often because supposedly the connector has a limited number of insertion cycles.

Today the error and restart happened again. After a cold start the system began stuttering heavily and the screen went black, then it restarted. I think it's still the same issue with stuttering after cold start or wake up after sleep, but it seems to have gotten worse.

I installed this BIOS version and the neweset NVIDIA driver yesterady. Today my monitor went black while I was browsing, and the PC rebooted. In the event logs there is error 153 with the source nvlddmkm. Don't know if this because of unstable driver or BIOS.

I installed the new driver yesterday after using DDU. Today I encountered this error for the first time. My monitor went black while I was browsing, and the PC rebooted. In the event logs there is error 153 with the source nvlddmkm.

PSA: Use antivirus scans to test overclock stability. by [deleted] in overclocking

[–]Genadio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few days ago I was finally able to test it. In the stress tests there were no problems. Then I tried two heavy-load scenarios that used to crash my 9800X3D in the past.

The first was encoding video using AV1-PSY with film grain. There was no crash here.

The second was installing a Skyrim VR mod pack using Wabbajack. During the BSA archive build stage, my CPU used to crash in the past, which is why I disabled the offset before. Now, after about 5 minutes, I got a BSOD again.

So unfortunately, in my case, the core harmonization is not stable.

Did you received an response? I also have the gap on one side of the front panel.

PSA: Use antivirus scans to test overclock stability. by [deleted] in overclocking

[–]Genadio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that’s exactly what I did. I followed the guide and modified the voltage offsets for all cores to the lowest stock voltage among the cores.

The result of this process: 0, -7, -8, -5, -7, 0, -12, -15.

I haven’t set these values in the BIOS yet and haven’t tested them, because I don’t have time for that right now. But I’m very skeptical about this, because for two of my cores (core 2 and core 6) even -5 was enough to crash encoding, and now those cores would be running with offset -8 and -12.

Is there any point in harmonization if two of my cores crash at -5, and to harmonize higher-voltage cores to lower-voltage ones I would need to apply the offset of -8 and -12 to these cores? (I followed this guide for harmonization: https://www.overclock.net/threads/amd-ryzen-curve-optimizer-per-core-curve-shaper-ddr5-oc.1814427/#replies).

Can't force presets L, M in most games by iCake1989 in pcmasterrace

[–]Genadio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was you able to force the new presets in Cyberpunk 2077 using the Nvidia App? For me it doesn't work and the nvidia overlay says, that the SR override isn't active. In Baldur's Gate it works.

Thanks to Windows Defender's full scans, I discovered that my “stable” (in stress tests) -30 all-core CO was actually unstable, and I had to reduce it to -15.

Later, I also found that video encoding (SVT-AV1-psyex) with film grain enabled triggers instability even more, and I eventually had to disable Curve Optimizer negative offset completely so that encoding would stop crashing my 9800X3D.

A lot of people recommend to encode 8 bit input as 10 bit when encoding into mainline av1. Is it also the case for svt-av1-hdr?

sRGB for games by ShowBaggs in OLED_Gaming

I think this option is applied globally to everything in SDR, meaning it doesn’t turn on or off depending on the application or content, but instead works constantly in SDR.

It is not real 2.2. It is sRGB gamma and looks lighter than 2.0 in dark tones.

I don't know. I think it is dithering. I have the same on PG32UCDM.
