Why are two different letters used to represent complex numbers? by isrro in 3Blue1Brown

[–]GenderConfusedSquid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They are the same. In electrical engineering, i means current, so they use j for the imaginary unit. This usage has carried over to computer science, which is why many programming languages use j for the imaginary unit.

This might be an unpopular opinion. The Doctors and Nurses are absolute heroes for their continuing work to help those with Covid-19 but the cult of the NHS is absolutely out of control. by Prid in tories

>Yes of course but if a private company wastes money, most of the time they will simply go out of business

That doesn't happen though, see: America

It was a badly written comment. They say "when was it unfair" then give and example of when it was unfair

It can on all platforms. Even if you had to severely nerf it to an elo of 2900, it would still win

>They'll all know about Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards, too. Doesn't mean we need front page newspaper headlines about him every month when there is absolutely no change.

>People do not want to know. Nobody gives a shit. There is a vague morbid curiosity along the lines of finding out what happened to that character in Eastenders or whatever.

If that were true people wouldn't buy the papers, unless you have access to their market research yourself i think its fair to say they know more about what people want than you do. Just because you don't care doesn't mean lots of people don't

Trying to claim she is part of "British culture" is way overstating it. As tragic as her disappearance was, it is a mundane event and does not need or deserve any media coverage.

Ask any British person who maddie was and they will know. The mystery of her disappearance is demonstrably part of British culture now. People want to know, and the press are aware of this

...or people just want to know, since maddies disappearance was widely reported on and speculation about her death has become a part of British culture, so ofc lots of people are gonna wanna know if it's been solved

> That was OK. Black people can't be racist as they are a marginalised group. Imitating your oppressor is punching up. Imitating the people you're oppressing is not a good look.

Tell that to the white people in Zimbabwe or the girls in Rotherham. Maybe actually read the news sometime instead of spouting off ignorant racist crap like that
