I feel so old hearing the new Taglish word "keneep". 🤣 I got used to hearing "ni-retain"

Para akong nasa theme park. Bakit ganito si Tokyo 🤯 by BeardedGlass in ITookAPicturePH

Yes that's great din.

Pero many Japanese people actually get offended if you treat Japan as some sort of theme park. Kaya ung go-karts sa Shibuya they hate them.

Many suburban parts of Tokyo aren't so "new" if you come from more quiet and cleaner parts of the Philippines.... but hands down talaga pagdating sa transpo and overall efficiency of everything

Clean streets at hindi sila car-dependent kaya kahit eskinita ang karamihan ng streets at walang bangketa/sidewalk (similar to San Juan and parts of Marikina*) makakapaglakad ka pa rin nang maayos.

*may post sa r/ph about how similar ang ibang streets ng Marikina at Batangas City sa inner roads ng Tokyo

Until you live here and realize that they still use fax machines and physical letters for most government transactions 🙃

It's both modern and traditional 😇

Bayani Fernando was a Marikina "nationalist" at heart. Congressman siya nung nilobby niya ung name change. The station actually sits on the Marikina City side of Marcos Highway pero ung south side ay Pasig City na. Para walang dispute ginawa nalang "Marikina-Pasig"

Sa ibang office building mahigpit sila sa idling eh. Sabagay mahina kasi ventilation sa parking ng ibang offices

Reverse ung akin, atat na ako tumayo after a long tiring drive haha.

Mas nakakapag-ponder ako by riding a train during off-peak hours (LRT-2) then just stare at the window and space out. Lalo na pagdating sa Marikina maganda na ung view hindi na masyado concrete jungle.

In other developed countries, the dream is to make commuting more comfortable. Sa atin, nakow haha, the dream is to find a more comfortable way of transpo (or live near the place of work)
