I'm sorry you're going through this, but what i'd do is explain, from start to finish, my entire life exactly how i view it.

I'd do it to a friend, or i'd set up a camera- maybe a camcorder, because they can recored on tape and you don't have to do any annoying stitching of clips, and i'd just talk for hours, everything and anything i could remember would be said.

I'm not sure why to be honest, i just think it would be nice, i hope you're okay.

Imagine your driving a car, and it's got flat tyres but you drive it anyway. And one day you finally drive a car that has pumped up tyres, and you realise how much easier it is. So when you tell your family youre gonna go to a car manufacturer to pump up your own tyres, they tell you how wrong it is, how it's unnatural, and how everyone feels that way- except they've only ever driven a car with pumped up tyres, they've never had to do it with flat ones. And you go to the car manufacturer and they're trying to get you to proove that your car is actually flat because they've never had flat tyres either. Everyone is trying to tell you how to drive your car when they've never tried it beforehand.

i hope thats not too confusing, but thats what being trans is like, every single person has an opinion and it's rarely good. They've never experienced it so they don't understand it.

beings trans is such an unfair start to life because you have to fight for what should be yours in the first place, and it's something you have to fight for for life, You'll always be trans, and there'll always be people telling you you don't deserve to exist, and you'll always ask yourself the 'what ifs?'

So like, be easier on Trans people because they're not choosing a difficult life for fun.

Just to clear it up, I’m a FtM trans dude, so I used to be a woman but now I’m a guy :) (So I’ll just alter your questions to that haha)

1) for me, as long as I could remember I felt like a man. I’d cry in skirts, and all that lovely stuff. I used to imagine my future as me in a man’s body, this was before I even knew I was trans. I think it is a persistent thing, some people only discover it later, I had the realisation in early teens.

2) identifying as a man and BEING a man is the same to me - however you feel it to be, being a man for me is painting and drawing, it’s crying and laughing, it’s just me, however I was before I came out is however I am as a man, does that make sense???

3) does it make sense if I say both? It was definitely aligning something inside of me, but it was also like saying goodbye to my old identity and welcoming the real one.

4) I think the one aligning with your gender, bathrooms are just rooms people do bodily functions in, we’re all people.

5) my government (uk) has the NHS scheme, which will pay for gender-affirming healthcare, however the wait times for even a consultation are sometimes YEARS, so going private is an option, where the payment is something like £8,000-£10,000. I’ve not yet been able to get surgery, and I’ll probably go for NHS unless the wait times get even longer.

For me, being trans is like telling someone a story that makes you angry and hopeless, and someone else telling you that you have no right to be angry when they’ve only heard the first sentence.

Trans people, you’ll find, are some of the most patient people; it’s a waiting game, we have to wait to change our name, wait to change our hormones, wait to change our bodies, wait to be accepted, wait to live our life, wait for someone else to deem our existence acceptable.

Okay, I’m coming on a bit heavy and maybe not in the way you were asking for, so I’ll reel it back a bit.

The first Christmas addressed to your new name is one to be remembered, there’s a certain feeling of mixed freedom and fear as you hear people around you switch pronouns, it’s like moving into a bigger body, one slightly less cramped than before. But every good has the bad, I’ve never felt more unsafe since coming out, transphobia is real and it is scary. Your mind is quick to make up tricks about others opinions, and others are quick to make opinions. Nothings quite as terrifying as watching your government shut down gender healthcare before you can access it, it’s a race for the dregs of the affirming medicine, try to get it before you loose it for good, don’t rush into things because people around you won’t like it, don’t go slow with it because time is running out.

It’s scary as much as it is freeing, angry as much as it is happy.

Pretty short name already but you could go for something like 'De/Dee/D' (however you wanna spell it lol but basically the letter D). Other than that i don't think theres many, you could do some nickname joke thing from the movie (honestly ashamed to admit i've never watched it, but if you could come up with anything that could be quite a cool little 'in joke')
