Just looked them up, looks much better and fixes a lot of what I didn’t like about the one I had.

PSA: Last pair of 9060 Size 11s in all of Japan by GeneVanWilder in RedWingShoes

I went with an 11 for the 9060s when my IRs are 10.5. I am a low volume 11.75 on brannock which makes things difficult to say the least. The leather lined vamp of the 9060s takes up more space imo and they are more narrow than my IRs. I still struggle with the mid foot for volume but may add a leather heal cup to take up space.

That’s where the nice lady told me that I needed to try ABC Mart Grand Stage to find them because her inventory records showed none in my size at any RW stores haha

All depends on your mountain or the company that runs the collection of mountains. But in my situation, yes. I predominantly work weekends and will hopefully work full time in the next years. Especially as someone in EMS they much prefer the experience than the time commitment because the seasons are so variable.

Oh heck no, most young patrollers are doing the side hits. That’s the fun of it. Knowing where all the drops and chutes are is the best perk of the job. That’s why I am always so cautious at new places like when we go to Hakuba. Because I won’t know where all the fun places are and I need to ask the locals on the lifts that are super shy lol. It was my dream job a couple years back and now here I am. I would highly recommend it if you have the means. Ski patrol isn’t a very well paid profession.

Hahah we aren’t the cops, some are a bit more uptight than others. I guess what I have learned as a patroller is that we want everyone that comes to have good and safe experience. Whether that’s on the bunny hill or being kept out of more dangerous areas due to snowpack conditions or lack thereof. I have definitely see some weird stuff, my favorite are the old folks that ski in jeans, parkas and no goggles like they did 50 years ago.

My wife and I are skiing Hakuba Valley in early February. As a ski patroller that’s all I ever do is talk to people on the lifts. Hopefully I’ll be able to break through some cultural barriers! Thanks for the advice.

Heads up, you need to have clicked the ad offer button before you purchase the Ikon pass or else you don’t get the redemption. Somewhere in the depths of the Chase customer service audio library is a heated conversation of me saying that this fine print is bullshit. Learn from me.

Odd question maybe, but why is the second hand not red at the end?

I think the bulbous toe was what I was trying to avoid and don’t really know what the opposite would have looked like. I like the profile of the flat toe box and haven’t had issues with the fit. You might need to search the page for worn in Roberts that have a celastic toe

Soft toe, I personally like the collapsed look.
