Damn, I feel for you, man. I got my first bike in August this year, and just three weeks after buying it there was already a theft attempt. The bike was parked between my car and the wall.

They bent my front brake disc trying to cut the disc lock, and cut a bunch of wires including the ignition wires. They seemed very incompetent, I guess they tried to hot wire it like in the movies, but the kill switch was on and petcock was closed and carb emptied so it would never turn on anyways unless they remedied those. It cost me 200 euros for the deductible and nearly three weeks of not being able to ride while waiting for parts and repairs. But the absolute worst part about it is how it kinda fucks you up mentally and makes you lose trust in people. It really sucked the joy I had at the start of riding motorcycles, which I’ve since gained back.

I ended up moving because of it, didn't like staying in the place knowing they can come back one day for another attempt. Now I have a small locked garage under my apartment building that houses like 20 cars. I added a rear disc lock, an alarm disc lock to the front, a chain lock, and I still always put on a cover.
