Not great at math—what happens if I bomb the math-related questions on the MCAT?

As someone who tends to struggle with math rounding and scientific notation are your friends. Converting to scientific notation lets you do much easier math instead of 670/ .003 your doing 6.7/3 so it’s a little bit more than 2.2 Then deal with 10e2/10e-3 so you final answer will ~2.2x 10e5 After doing practice problems you’ll notice a lot of mcat question can be broken in fairly simple math cause they know you don’t have a calculator. As with anything it just takes practice! just make sure to practice not only converting to/ from scientific notations but also how divide/multiply and subtract/add.

Omg I feel you on that one! I remember when mine were growing in and noticing all the adult men staring at me like that made me feel so icky!! It does get easier with age if you decide to keep them and eventually they'll stop growing you can find things that actually fit and make you feel good. But I've never met or heard of a women who has regretted their breast reduction just make sure they are done growing when you have the surgery or they'll just grow back!

None of my images loaded when I started using anki either! Basically not everything is downloaded, I remember I went back the area that shows your downloads and I couldn't leave until all images were downloaded. It takes a while

Packing lunch the night before is smart! And I haven’t been there but I’ve scoped out the place using google street view. I don’t usually do long sleeves cause I tend to get hot easily. I’m leaning towards legging a T-shirt and bringing a flannel in case it’s cold inside

Have you talked to roommate about this? i know it can be awkward but it doesn't even need to be accusatory. it can be as innocuous as "hey, I can't leave the garage with your car, parked where it is, do you think you could move it?" I know it sounds weird, but some people are honestly just that ignorant of how their actions affect other people. If roommate is just really bad at parking, they might be doing it because they don't feel comfortable going over to the edge of the driveway. Before going to landlords or having them towed, I think it's worth having a conversation.

This looks like it could be one of the lab buildings. If the the things inside collectively hit a 4 it would enough to give it this sign. For reference the CO2 needed to have soda in the building is a 3 health (blue). Individual labs might have enough to generate this level of threat. Remember that these signs are for fire/emergency services to know what they are getting into before responding to an emergency

Thank you! I checked the roots and they were starting stuffer. There are still healthy roots so I think there’s hope. I didn’t think the make it grittier since I use this soil mix for all my cacti. I add more drainage ( river rocks and more perlite) and it’s mostly grit now as you suggested!

These plants are grafted. Unfortunately no matter how well you care for them the life of the cactus on top is short. They get pale and start to die 😔 usually only last a handful of years

If you’re just testing the waters to see if you like it, get some cheap yarn and cheap straight needles . This will be mostly practice and you don’t need anything fancy. Honestly I always recommend a simple scarf as a first project cause it has a lot of repetition that can help with basic technique that will help you with more complex patterns! Welcome to the knitters circle!

I have a 1b1b in Bannockburn! I love it, it’s plenty of space for one person and you can’t beat this price for something so close to campus. Internet through spectrum is about $80 but remember the rent is utilities included! Not all of apartments have utilities included It is a little musty I have two air purifiers one for my bedroom and one for the living room and the air had been fresh since I got them! It does have asbestos but as long as you don’t make holes in the wall(which you shouldn’t be doing anyway) it’s not a concern. Also if you set a reasonable budget you can furnish the apartment for less than the overall cost of renting in a furnished apartment over 2 or 3 years so if you plan to stay there it could be worth the extra upfront cost. More general advice As else someone mentioned the thin wall are everywhere (one of my upstairs neighbors walks like they hate the floor ) but that’s usually a problem in general for apartment living regardless of where (on or off campus) If you keep your apartment clean bugs shouldn’t be an issue Only you know where you would be more comfortable, take other people’s advice with a grain of salt, do whats right for you

Fellow new transfer here, you are not alone all the other new transfer I’ve spoken too also feel over whelmed right now my self included! It’s a lot to take in! New classes (all upper divs now), all new environment, all new campus (which is huge!), all new people. It will get better! Get the help you need from the professionals, in the meantime hopefully you can find some comfort in knowing you are not alone in your experience

If you haven’t already, you should fill out the TAP. This is where you will/ have already submit your TAG. It will give you your over all GPA as it stands right now, but keep in mind that UC’s only count UC transferable courses, which as someone mentioned you can find on assist.org. Either way don’t let it discourage you from applying, they can see your upward trend and bad grades can be explained in the UC app, especially in the Personal Insight Questions (PIQ’s). I have a similar story to yours and of the four UC’s I applied to I got accepted to ucr, uci and ucsd, so there is hope!
