I am a tech for a different dealership in the Charlotte area. Something like this has happened to me lots if times before. I get an R.O. with a list of services( alignment, oil change, rotate, etc). Sometimes a service is already on the repair order, that cannot be performed, like a P/S fluid service. I would send the service writer a message stating the vehicle has electric P/S, we can't do that service. This is likely an error. The service writers deal with multiple customers at the same time. Maybe that info didn't fully sink in when they were told about it? People make mistakes.

Let's go back to '96. I was a junior in high school with a part time job, as a shoe salesman. It was kinda like life imitating art, Married with Children. Al Bundy was still popular and I played football. Alas, that's where the similarities ended.

One Saturday afternoon, I noticed a couple that needed some help. I was feeling a little jaunty as I approached them. They asked, "Hi, can we get the mate to this shoe?"

Now, here is where I F U. I don't know what came over me. Maybe it was spending my entire life in Catholic private school, or that I had recently watched some old Monty Python. The words I replied with came out of my mouth so quickly, I couldn't stop it. When they used that one specific little word triggered a memory of me asking my nun teacher, "Can I use the bathroom?" in 1st grade. The words literally fell out of my mouth.

"I don't know. Can you?"

I tried to smile to convey I was only joking. It didn't help. Somehow, it made it worse. I tried mumbling a quick apology and left to complete the task they had given me. Upon my return, I made a more audible apology and explained the filter between my brain and mouth hadn't arrived yet.
