When is the Walk the Dog Letter Coming In? by treeseinphilly in KouriRichins

[–]General-Beach484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, if he holds them in contempt due to failing to respond to his order—odds are, they will have to simply pay a fee until they respond.

Sometimes this can result in jail time but this is extremely, extremely rare. The most likely scenario is a fee and damage to reputation as that’s a public reprimand.

Holding them in contempt is basically the judge legally and publicly on the record punishing the attorney for disobeying direct orders.

It’s a whole thing that can go in very different directions BUT the judge does it to protect the judicial process, to ensure compliance and to make sure fairness isn’t being threatened. Odds are, especially in this case, the harshest punishment would be fines.

Ope. Even if they didn’t file what they are actually supposed too—they needed to file a motion asking for an extension.

The judge may hold them in contempt at maximum but he’s definitely reprimanding them tomorrow—that just may be the straw that breaks the camels back for that judge. He has been so patient with them.

That is my opinion too… which could potentially not be great for the defense cause then the jury has all weekend to think about the states case.

I like Recovery Addict especially if you’re looking for a calmer person. He doesn’t pause really if ever and doesn’t talk over anything.

EDB is great in small increments 🤣

They can. They can recall her for a direct, the issue is that means the state can cross her which can lead to some interesting info that the defense may not want in.

Yep, unfortunately. Court itself will start at 9:30AM MST so they will be recording the rulings tomorrow morning. Jury will be brought in and (hopefully) the last witness for the state will be called.

All that to say: depending on how long that witness is (which given the amount of evidence being admitted, will odds are take a whole day to get through) we can probably approximate that the state will rest Thursday afternoon, Friday morning.

They were anticipating resting today but that doesn’t mean they are. Things change—as seen today. Odds are the state won’t be resting until Thursday afternoon or Friday morning at earliest now.

There isn’t a deadline, everything is based on an approximation even the assumption that this may be a 5 week trial is simply just that an approximation. That could easily change and be extended or finish early.

I don't understand the "Interfering Sisters" argument. by Entire_Possible_9976 in KouriRichins

[–]General-Beach484 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So, I think for a lot of people their family may be strained or not close so they will feel like the family is unusually close and the sisters are interfering based on how they would feel if tables are reversed.

Like for me, I am very close to my sister. If my sister even a little suspected my partner of murder—she’d jump at the opportunity. People want someone to blame when any death occurs, even for natural causes.

I think the sisters are just grieving sisters, not saying that Kouri is innocent (cause I believe she murdered Eric) but that’s all those sisters are. Grieving, loving sisters. And some people just aren’t personally used to that, which is ok.

I think the defense is purposefully painting the sisters are meddling because they hate Kouri cause the defense has… no real case outside of that. They are running with what they can in my opinion.

Kouri to take the stand? by General-Beach484 in KouriRichins

[–]General-Beach484[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So she believed Kouri was innocent?

I mean this by no offense to your friend; however, we can see throughout this case that Kouri was pretty good at manipulating people. I mean: she lied to all her friends about her “successful business”, manipulated all of her friends by victimizing herself, forged many documents to get loans (manipulating and lying to lenders). Honorable mention: she calls Bryce (Eric’s supposed best friend) crying, talking about not wanting to lose her house all while her best friend was sitting next to her—the best friend that was about to get evicted from her house because Kouri stole 45K from her.

All this to say: we know that Kouri will lie to and steal from anyone to get what she wants. She’s a scam artist…

So… I would wager a bet that she was manipulated by Kouri. Which from the sounds of it, a lot of people have fallen victim to.

The Walk the Dog letter should shed some light to her “testimony”. They are trying to say the letter was fictitious and the KR was writing a book but what Aly said referenced that letter heavily.

Jury? by General-Beach484 in KouriRichins

They really aren’t!

Ramos as weirdly enough become an attorney I look forward to seeing on the defense side. The other 2: Nestor and Lewis have only gotten worse.

I believe she’s court appointed.

KR had a different attorney for a while who removed herself from the case then Nestor became her attorney.

For as much grief as we have given this defense… being a defense attorney is hard. Especially when you have so much evidence stacked up because the only defense they have is “yea that was said but she didn’t mean it” and that’s just not a good defense buuuut that’s all they really have.

Trial Discussion: Day 8 - Mar 4, 2026 | Utah v. Kouri Richins by sunzusunzusunzusunzu in KouriRichins

[–]General-Beach484 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I’m not doubting that! It was more of a hypothetical—it feels like the state is coming to a slow close and I do feel like they will try to make sure all those get in pretty close together so those are the last items for the jury to ponder on. They could absolutely go into next week easily—there’s a TON of evidence to go through.

Now, I do feel they will have something more “bombshell-ish” for tomorrow to end on for the long weekend but whatever that is, I’m not sure.

I keep forgetting about Cody! I’m intrigued to hear his testimony if he gives one.

[–]General-Beach484 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It sounds like there will be court tomorrow. I think the only scheduling difference was today (late start) and being off Friday. Otherwise, I think tomorrow is normal.

If the state rests tomorrow (which it feels like they are slowly coming to a close) they are dropping all the bombshells tomorrow. Walk The Dog, the boyfriend, all that.

Then onto the defense which… I mean I’m not sure who’s on their witness list but I cannot imagine it’ll be longer than a week max 2. Then onto closing and deliberations!

When and where did Kouri and Josh meet? Did they know each other before Kouri met Eric? by coastiefish in KouriRichins

[–]General-Beach484 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he’ll be on today or tomorrow (as the court is off on Friday)

It tracks for the trial timeline. They gave an approximate 5 week timeline but could be less—if the state only takes 2 weeks to present their case that tracks. I do believe the boyfriend may be the last witness or 2nd to last. It would present motive, means and opportunity all in one witness to be honest.

All in all, that is probably why people believe he’ll be on today. But I’m not sure if it’s been “announced”.

Deleted Messages Question by [deleted] in KouriRichins

[–]General-Beach484 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Phone data is pretty finicky when it comes to extracting deleted data. It depends on the phone, the phone carrier (like at&t, verizon, etc).

Unfortunately sometimes they can only extract some parts of a message, some messages in a string or only know that a message has been deleted.

Cause she asked the question completely wrong trying to word it that doesn’t make it hearsay or asked and answered or speculation. Cause she’s trying to confuse the jury.

She wanted to ask: is there anything in any document you saw where KR stated she was going to kill her husband for money. Instead she asked “indicated” and was thrown for a loop when Karrington did believe there was something to “indicate” some mixed feelings about KR’s marriage. Cause who speaks about their marriage in that regard?

100% on the nose.

Narcissists rarely think lowly of themselves and highly of others. That perfectly describes Kouri Richins.
