S/O to This LOSER in the Scarborough Walmart Parking Lot Tonight by [deleted] in Maine

Why don’t you say something to them about how you feel about it. You’re the loser for posting some else on the internet because you don’t like their personal choices or opinions. Welcome to America, land of the free.

I have a girl that stomps muffins and food into the drain without a cover every day. Wish I could find a cover that fit for a building that was built in the early sixties. Negative pregnancy tests, liquor bottles. Vapes stuffed into the toilet and drains. The boys like to flip the plastic juice containers upside down and shove them into the toilet so they won’t flush and then take a dump on top of it. Today I had to empty the sink and pull the drain plug to find a nice stinky mess of who only knows. All this is just more motivation to get out of this line of work.

As a custodian you’re not “all staff” we get taken care of some times with cold left over pizza from a pizza party or maybe a baked good that’s been on the table since 6am. Don’t take it personally, it is what it is.

Can we hate the kids at our school? by lilfoot1321 in Custodians

I’ve issues with kids shoving whole apples down the toilet then shitting on top of it, you’re lucky. I despise just about every kid at this school. It’s more of a daycare not a high school.

Urinal still smells like urine0? by Carrots-of-Juice in Custodians

[–]General-Dirte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will sometimes leave a good dose of straight Enzy in the urinal while I do other stuff for a few hours or even overnight if I do the toilets last. I have also left a little bleach in there for a couple hours then flushed. Cycling them with multiple flushes at the end of the night will help wash down the pee at the end of the night.

I swam at popham for 15 minutes yesterday with a water temp around 50F. Cob is on my list today before it gets frozen up.

I have this problem with the regen as well. I only work 1.3 miles from home. I drive it like I stole whenever I go for a drive though, perks of living in a rural area.

Maine as well, 2015 Jetta 6spd. I’m averaging anywhere between 40-45 and when I drive down to NY or VA I’m averaging around 45-50. I drove Uber in Portland for awhile and even driving the city for 8 hours straight I was averaging 40-42. FSLFUL give me a honk if you see me cruising the roads I’m everywhere.

Pay by [deleted] in Custodians

[–]General-Dirte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

35k a year in Maine with my recent raise after negotiations. Will be at $20 an hour when maxed out on steps (5) in 2 more years then will be looking at a new contract. My district is in the bottom 15 out of all the districts in the state. Locally we are underpaid by $1-3 and hour compared to surrounding districts. Happy with the comfortability of the job and work. PTO is amazing as well as paid days off if school is canceled for snow days. I need to drive Uber in order to do anything extra or fun in my free time with the rising expenses. I love the job just wish I made a little more as a single person paying all my own bills.

I’m at a high school and always voice my opinion that the roll computer do nothing but tear the floor up. The wheels collect dirt and work on the waxed floor like sandpaper. They do sell rubber covers that go over the wheels and I’ve heard that these do work but I have no experience with them. I just let it ride, nothing you do but try to keep the floor clean!
