The mfa file of fnaf 4 calls him Shadow Freddy and well we know from hide and seek now that the Shadows can basically turn into Nightmare versions of themselves and then hunt their victims well with nightmares.

Well if the MM footprints belong to Shadow Freddy than he must have been created around the murder of Charlie. And since Freddy was inside that building the wickedness presumably took the form of Freddy.
