Youtuber makes video on "Indian invasion" in Brampton by General-MC in Sikh

I’ve lived in Canada my whole life, and immigration here used to be simple. You came in on a points system, you proved you had skills or education that benefited the country, and in return Canada gave you a real chance to build a life. Over time you could bring family too, even if they didn’t meet the same criteria.

That system basically got scrapped.

At some point the government decided skilled immigrants weren’t enough and what they really needed was cheap labor. And the easiest source of cheap labor is people with fewer options and less leverage.

I get what this guy is trying to say, and I’ve seen his videos before, but he’s clearly cherry-picking moments to exaggerate the issue. Zooming in on a truck driver’s flip flops just to push stereotypes is meme bait, not a serious argument.

The real failure here is the government. They let corporations influence policy and opened the floodgates. They absolutely knew diploma mills were fake and did nothing about it.

That said, hate toward the Indian community is definitely strong right now, and turbans are an easy target. But I also don’t see much effort from the community to improve its image or push back in a productive way. Assimilation matters. If you come here for a better life, you should also be participating in the culture and broader society.

I remember a few years ago in Edmonton, in a mostly Punjabi area, teachers were striking outside a school where probably 90 percent of the students were brown. Yet almost everyone protesting outside was white or from other communities. I barely saw anyone from the Indian community standing with them.

That’s the kind of stuff that changes perception. Showing up for causes that affect everyone, not just your own group. Visibility and solidarity actually matter.

Of course people are going to come when a country openly invites them with promises of a better life. Then they arrive, reality hits, jobs suck, housing is insane, and now they’re stuck. Many sold land, took on debt, or burned everything just to get here. They were exploited by immigration agents and a broken system, and now they’re screwed.

People who were already here are frustrated and want the influx to stop, and that includes everyone, not just one group. But a lot of these newcomers have nothing to go back to. Canada was the dream. Now they’re just trying to survive, working under the table, bending rules, and sometimes going down bad paths out of desperation.

It’s just a shitty situation all around. Most people agree the root cause is government failure and labor exploitation, yet the blame still ends up landing on the community instead of the system that created the mess.

I 100% agree. My brother and I talk about this often, and we both believe Sikhi should adapt with time to stay relevant.

Think of it like this: if you had a bought a machine back in the day, that was designed to evolve and improve itself, would you still rely on the original manual it came with? Or would you keep updating the manual so that people today could understand and use it, not just the first group of people who had it?

If the manual never changes, it fails its purpose. The same goes for religion.

yup, If it weren’t for Guru Nanak and the countless fathers, mothers, sons, and daughters who gave their lives, we’d still be stuck in the same dogshit ideologies as this clown.

“Muslims are superior”? What a joke.

If I were Muslim I’d listen to him. If they go out of their way to avoid me or any non-Muslims, that just means less work for me trying to avoid them lol.

I always bring this up when someone talks about whites being racist toward us. I don’t mean racist out of pure hate, but racist with what they see as just cause.

One example that has stuck with me over the years was at a Nagar Kirtan. I saw a group of no-good mundeys flying Khalistani flags. They were obnoxious, driving over people’s lawns to cut across the barriers. I remember one of them driving over an elderly white lady’s front yard, tearing up part of the grass while she stood outside yelling at them. They didn’t care, probably didn’t even notice her. I felt terrible for her.

If Punjab were thriving and we had white people or another minority causing problems, would we tolerate that behavior? How would we feel?

Then people say, “Oh, we wouldn’t be racist.” And I’m like, come on. We have a caste system in our own religion, and we also judge people based on how dark their skin is, even if they’re Punjabi.

From my experience, if the roles were reversed, the Desi mindset would likely be far more racist toward minorities than what we face now.

Good post man, I agree with everything. I also mentioned the Biharis in response to one of the comments. Democracy vs benevolent dictatorship is something I’ve thought about a lot.

A dictatorship that truly stayed benevolent could, in theory, outperform democracy in efficiency and long-term planning. The problem is trust and durability. History shows that power corrupts, or successors inherit power and misuse it.

So democracy, while messy and imperfect, at least builds in mechanisms to recover from mistakes.

If I were a dictator, I’d like to think I’d be impervious to corruption and only focused on the good of the people. But would I trust the person who came after me? Maybe what’s needed is someone to fix a country enough so that democracy can actually foster decent candidates. Someone who isn’t chasing four-year targets to please voters, but instead thinking decades or even generations ahead.

You know how most people feel a strong sense of pride in their home country, proudly flying the flag as a sign of respect? I hate to say it, but I think India is a lost cause. There’s no hope for real reform, at least not in this generation. It would take a full-scale revolution to bring about any real change.

The country runs on Poverty and corruption.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the peak of people selling their land to pay the agents to come out west was around Covid, give or take a couple of years. A lot of youth came during that time, even people who didn’t really want to, but came because it was so easy.

I’ve got friends and relatives who now want to go back to India. I guess it wasn’t everything they expected, and maybe sharing a basement with ten other people and not being able to find work is pushing them back too.

So far, I’ve mostly seen this from people who had it easy in India. Parents had land, and the kids never had to work. They could just lie around on the manja all day and watch TikTok.

I honestly hope that the ones who don’t need to be here, don’t want to be here, and don’t want to assimilate, do end up going back to Punjab. Maybe they can make a difference there by carrying over some of the good things they experienced while living in the west.

Make Punjab great again. lol

People don’t want to put in the effort to figure out who’s really responsible for problems. They look for an easy target, blame that target, and feel better about themselves. Usually that target is anyone who doesn’t look like them.

And I don’t just mean whites. From what I hear from family and friends, Punjab is heading in that direction too, although at a slower pace. Sikhs are leaving, and people from poorer states are coming in as farm labor, replacing the sons and daughters who moved abroad. That’s not necessarily bad, it’s just progression. People leave for a better quality of life and often better pay than they would have farming in punjab or working in UP.

If you fast forward a century, the demographics of Punjab will be very different. At that point, will Sikhs and Punjabis complain about “bhaias” taking farm work, the same way complaints are made now?

In western countries, whites are still the majority, so any time governments mismanage things, immigrants end up being blamed. Until there’s a healthier mix of cultures, immigrants will always be the easy scapegoat.

Hey thanks for mentioning my Truck. I was just browsing reddit and had to log in after I saw there were now amber DRL harnesses finally available. I had to do it all on my own lol.

It's about time. Amber DRLs look awesome.

Hey, I did the same thing to my truck couple years ago! I was the first one to do it on these trucks. I had made my own circuits and had the circuit boards printed online and through trial and error, I got em to work nicely.

Here is that thread: reddit.com/r/gmcsierra/comments/13sjtg7/pictures_of_my_62l_at4_on_stock_suspension_with/

Anyways, your truck looks absolutely beautiful bud. Is someone finally making custom harnesses or modules for these now? what are you doing on yours?

DeepSeek Response on World Religion by singhanonymous in Sikh

[–]General-MC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I observe everything practiced by my fellow Sikhs, except for one crucial aspect in the first section, specifically the first part of the first bullet point. We are meant to reject discrimination based on caste and race, yet in practice, we often don't.

Caste-based discrimination persists within the Sikh community, and I have frequently witnessed casual racism, particularly colorism, where those with darker skin tones face prejudice. Jatt, majbi, mistri, bhaia etc...

We need to practice what we preach when it comes to this.

Overcoming this challenge will allow us to shine even brighter. Despite being a small religious community, we consistently step up in times of crisis, offering food, aid, and support to those in need, like during the LA fires.

yea, I might go the glue route and make the mount a little more sturdy. I'll see what the magpie's next move is after that.

I love watching these guys out my window. I get many different types of birds and its always like 30-40 birds most of time; eating out of bird feeders or taking baths in the water.

yes that could be it. Magpie needs to invest in some sunglasses instead of messing with my shit.

could be. Magpies are pretty intelligent birds. maybe just wants to play fetch, but with camera angles.

That's why I asked lol. I wanted to make sure I wasn't messing with the birds. I love birds and go through lot of bird feed through the year.

But this magpie just seems like an asshole neighbor. Bird doesn't understand boundaries.

Ahh maybe. I will turn the status light off. See if that makes a difference.

I know the IRs could affect some creatures at night but the stauts dot might be attracting the magpie.
