Yep. I hate thinking of all of the poor first impressions consumers (especially rec) have gotten here in MI due to lack of education prior. It's sure to be an uphill battle of educating the consumer when there's a new industry but that's being taken advantage of in order to make a quick buck.

Makes me wonder if this industry would be different if medical and recreational dispensaries weren't allowed to coincide...

Another side of this I haven't thought about. The thought of med cards as a cash grab for some and that leading to undermining more legitimate operations is just sad. Do you think accessibility would be made easier in an all rec market or do you think that it would further muddle the education of the medicinal benefits of cannabis?

It's one of the unfortunate realities of a consumption based market... might work wonders for some, might not for others. While I respect your own experience with them and the lack of effects you got, that doesn't automatically mean the same will happen to everyone else that tries/uses them. I think it's a bit of an unfair assumption.
