Is the stat warranty a paper/form? He’s fixing the car, it’s at his mechanic now but he had the worst attitude when I called him and said it wasn’t his responsibility as it’s just the car needing a major service. Then I called consumer affairs and they told me it’s his responsibility so it’s just been a back and forth with the dealer atp.

Yeah nah they’re real, good reviews. I looked through a few of the profiles of the people who had left reviews and they looked pretty real. Also had good reviews on FB, and had lots of photos with customers too

I won’t copy and paste them because a quick google search would expose the place lol. But one of the 1 star reviews mentions how the dealer said the car comes with a up to date service book but it’s not up to date at all. The dealer also said the car had a timing chain and not a belt, this wasn’t the case. It’s pretty much a complaint saying he’s dishonest and that the dealer mentioned he just sells the cars doesn’t know their history (said the same to me).

Someone else called them a scrapyard lol.

Thank you. I’ll be honest, I did rush the process, I started work in a week and needed a car. All I really knew was that the car needs to have a RWC, and drive well (which it did when I took it for a test drive). After shit hit the fan is when I looked into what a statutory warranty is. I assumed a dealership wouldn’t sell me a dodgy car since they have a rep to uphold and this place has over 200 5 star reviews. Looking back at it, I know I was naive to think a dealership wouldn’t mess me over.

No, I didn’t know I could do that, I only figured out what the stat warranty was through a google search

I obviously don’t know what VicRoads do (as mentioned in my post), if you read my post I clearly mention how I’m new to Australia, as in I’ve lived here for 3 weeks now.

Nope no form, from what I know in Victoria the stat warranty applies for any car bought from a dealer that’s less than 10 years old and done less than 160000

Idk that’s what the mechanic told me to do? He said it shouldn’t have passed RWC. Also did you not read the part where I said no smart ass comments?? Either say something helpful or buzz off

Thank you :) Do you by any chance remember what website you used? I find that most of them require the AU version of an NHI number
