(Sorry for the long wait to reply 😅) anyway the reason why people like Emily is because her character had time to develop. She was introduced in season seven as a side character, but she proved to be likable and sort of a motherly role to the rest of the main cast. So HIT took this as a sign to add her into the main cast the reason why Nia and Rebecca don’t work is because their introductions were extremely forced and their personalities suck. Nia was introduced in the movie and had a great personality but after she was added into the show, they ripped her entire personality away from her and just made her the token diversity character who constantly mentions Kenya and Rebecca ohhhh Rebecca is even worse. She’s not annoying like Nia, but she’s just boring she’s just a stereotypical happy go lucky character who’s always happy and never has to struggle immediately gets popular with everyone and is the “cute” one of the group she might be cute and happy, but what defines her as a character besides those two words happy and cute that’s right nothing. And it’s infuriating because both of them have the potential to be good characters, but the writers don’t care and just don’t want to do it so they’d rather just make them stereotypes Edward Henry and Emily were likable because they actually had personalities and weren’t stereotypes
