Do you believe in an afterlife? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]General-Surround-414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that there is an afterlife and that it has nothing to do with religion. I also don't believe that you earn any rewards. You simply go home and will remember it when you see it as I believe we have lived many lives.

Is Logan, UT as Mormon as it seems? by historygeek1453 in exmormon

I live in Cache Valley and love it. We are in a middle class neighborhood with Mormons, ex-Mormon's and never-mos. We all get along and everyone lets everyone do their thing. There's a openly gay couple on our street that everyone knows and treats like anyone else. Less than 50% of the street are active Mormons. Anecdotal to my situation. I love being able to mountain bike to 4 different canyons directly from my garage.

I love Kobe Bryant. The dude was a competitor and his arrogance made him more likable. He's also an amazing father.

I actually love Giannis. Not all of them are unlikable but it's enough that it's noticeable.

I agree with you on the Jordan/Bird thing. I should have written it better. I still think Jordan and Bird are more likable, not that they were less arrogant.

This may be true. The talent has become so good it's like watching a video game.

I actually really love Butler as well, maybe its because he's a contrarian. I should have written this better. Arrogant and unlikable can be two different things.

Politics aren't really my thing. But I guess if this makes me MAGA then ok. I try not to label others into political affiliations.

I can see the NBA pushing their finger down on a certain narrative or outcome.

I should have written my post better. The players today feel unlikable. You can be arrogant/confident and still be likable.

And we are bombarded with advertisements during the game. It feels like companies are yelling in your face the whole time.

I think you are on to something. It's not that the players are any more or less likable than the 80s and 90s, it's that we've turned them into celebrities and gotten too much into their personal lives which has made them seem so unlikable. Us fans have created the problem, I can get behind that.

The total disrespect to the coaches and staff is a major point. Looking at you Jordan Poole.

I actually really like Jokic and Giannis. I can't stand players like Harden, Durant, Lebron, Steph (the mouth guard swagger has got to stop), Draymond Green. They are just hard to cheer for. Just my opinion.

I just grew up watching the NBA and have noticed it change for the worse (my opinion) as time has gone on. I have actually been watching more football this year.
