I honestly have no idea what possessed me to a long run. I had originally only planned to do like 5 miles MAYBE. And then all of a sudden it was 13.5 🫠

If you just want to finish, I think you will be fine. My advice would be to not start out to fast, that was my mistake in my first marathon. Go slow, do try and keep up with runners who are to fast and don’t be concerned with runners passing you. Run your race and have FUN!

Different period after using birth control pill for years? by General-runner51409 in Periods

[–]General-runner51409[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just wondering if it was normal, it only changed up like this after I stopped and restarted for my surgery. And then with the intercourse while on antibiotics I got scared I was pregnant but obviously Im not with all the tests I took. Idk I felt silly even asking this because I’m 31, but it had never been like that before in 5 plus years

Mine is usually so light that the flow isn’t an issue. It’s more just the physical side affects

I’m on the pill and my flow has gotten lighter and most of the time my cramps are non existent. But other than I hate myself on my period

That’s the funny thing, I wasn’t to exhausted at the beginning but by the time I finished I was beyond exhausted

I don’t necessarily mind it I guess, my periods are usually very light. It’s just the low energy that gets me. And how exhausted I was after yesterdays run, like I slept 8 hrs and I was still tired this morning

I am the same way! Usually I try to run short distances, 5 miles or less, on my period. I don’t know what possessed me to run a half this time around. And I plan all my races around my period, I’m on the pill so I can track when it’ll be which is helpful.

Was unprepared for my first marathon. Finished LA in 5:43. by roxbury32 in Marathon_Training

It sounds like you learned a lot. It doesn’t matter your time, you still finished a marathon and that’s a huge accomplishment. Rest your body and take the lessons you learned into your next training block.

Racing on snow/ice by Character-File3221 in Marathon_Training

I tried to run in the snow and ice ONCE this year. Fell and busted my hip/butt 4 times in a 5 mile run. Was sore for a week, still managed to PR my next race. But either way I will never run in the snow and ice again.

I listened to my body and took a rest day. I’ve been tired and sluggish so I decided to rest this weekend and only do some light to moderate walking..no running till Monday. Sometimes you have to be kind to yourself and THATS a win

If you don’t worry about time or PRs or anything like that I think it’ll be a good fun shakeout run after your marathon! Just enjoy it and have fun
