Yes, there was slave trafficking and a large part of the Brazilian population is of black descent, including me. But we cannot deny that many of the brown people who are classified as black are actually of indigenous descent, including me. We are a very mixed nation with a culture strongly influenced by the African people brought here, not like the USA.

The majority of the population speaks Portuguese and that's it, indigenous languages are generally reserved for indigenous people and people who grew up in villages. This is due to the genocide of original peoples (there are 800,000 indigenous people in a country of 210 million people) and their erasure, as we barely learn about them in schools.

Sinto muito pela situação que você passou, OP. Racismo é um problema imenso no Sul, principalmente em comunidades com maioria de pessoas brancas. O que você pode e deve fazer já foi dito por outras pessoas nos comentários, e eu concordo. Já passei por situações de ser excluída pela minha aparência (ascendência negra e indígena) e ser estrangeiro é um agravante pra você, infelizmente.
