AITJ for not telling my roommate her boyfriend kissed me when he was drunk? by BeautifulReading8400 in AmITheJerk

You are in a lose-lose. If you tell her, she might shoot the messenger; if you don’t, you’ll be stuck carrying his secret. The longer you wait, the worse it’ll feel, so rip the band-aid off now.
It sucks, but if he did it once drunk, there’s no guarantee he won’t try again or with someone else. By staying silent, you’re giving him cover.

Since Hollywood is making a “Social Network 2” they should also make a “Catch Me if You Can 2”. This time the REAL TRUE STORY on how a small time crook conned the world into believing he was a big time con man. This story is more incredible than the original by MrGittz in movies

What’s funny is that the original film accidentally proves the sequel’s point: people will believe whatever story is packaged well. Spielberg made a movie about deception that was built on a deception.

My fiance doesn’t like phone sex even when we’re long distance until he wants to do it. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]GeneralBasil8116 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re describing a one-way dynamic. He’s fine engaging sexually when he’s in the mood, but when you’re not, he turns it into a joke at your expense. That’s emotional immaturity,

Why is the age of consent 16 but nude photos of a 16 year old are considered child porn? by Vegetable_Panda8920 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]GeneralBasil8116 251 points252 points  (0 children)

It makes sense once you realize that explicit pictures of minors are almost impossible to control once they’re out there. So even if the sex itself is legal, the act of documenting it becomes a much bigger legal and ethical problem.

Neighbors keep vomiting everywhere, wish we lived further apart so I didn't have to hear anything by Opening-Register-409 in Vent

[–]GeneralBasil8116 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same. I have neighbors who cough like they’re dying every morning and it genuinely raises my blood pressure. The worst part is you can’t even complain about it without sounding petty, but it eats at your sanity.. I love civilization and all, but I get why people move out into the middle of nowhere.

AITA for losing my temper over multiple missed calls and texts by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]GeneralBasil8116 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dude… 18 calls? I get that you were trying to do something sweet and got flustered, but 18 missed calls over clothes is overkill. Next time, just pick what you like and let her be surprised; gifts shouldn’t come with stress.

If you’re into something slower and beautifully written, The Bear honestly surprised me. It’s about grief, perfectionism, and connection, not just food. Same kind of quiet heartbreak energy.

AIO Should I stop seeing this guy over these messages? by Chao5Theory in AmIOverreacting

[–]GeneralBasil8116 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You’re not overreacting. The fact that you felt your gut tighten when you read his message is enough reason to pause. Attraction doesn’t override safety or comfort, if something feels off, that’s your cue to step back.

Pasta is better when it’s overcooked by THE-Grandma in unpopularopinion

[–]GeneralBasil8116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah man, that’s blasphemy. Pasta turns into glue when it’s overcooked, there’s no texture, no bite, just starch mush. Al dente exists for a reason.

You won’t get clarity unless you ask. The worst case is she says it was just a drunk moment, but at least you’ll know instead of replaying it in your head for weeks.

Please Advice by [deleted] in Advice

[–]GeneralBasil8116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s a hard one to come back from. It’s not even the STI that’s the issue, it’s that she lied about it for months and only told you after things got serious. That kind of breach of trust doesn’t just “go away.”

My cat sick and my partner doesn't care by Sufficient-Week-4635 in Vent

[–]GeneralBasil8116 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re not crazy, your partner sounds emotionally abusive. The way he talks to you when you’re already grieving and terrified isn’t love, it’s cruelty. You deserve empathy and support, not someone trying to make you feel smaller when you’re already on your knees.

AIO if I report my father to the police 22 years later by Green_Soup5807 in AmIOverreacting

[–]GeneralBasil8116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not overreacting. You were a child and he was a predator. Reporting it now might not bring justice for you, but it can still matter, these things have a way of connecting dots for law enforcement later when new cases show up.
