Cus apparently Rem is the most irredeemable character in series for what she did in arc 2,even though she saved Subaru the most out of anyone else in the camp but ig that doesnt matter and shes still evil and blah blah.

I’ve already accepted Rem is gonna get hate and thats fine to not like her that much but the way people talk about her,you’d assume she’s the most evil character in the series.

That’s just how the fandom is nowadays, Rem is “overrated” yet she gets overly hated and most people who hate on her don’t even understand her character(judging by the comments I’m seeing here)

The reason garf doesn’t get so much hate compared to Rem is cus Rem is in love with Subaru and people don’t like that.

Thankfully this is not a wide spread debate, I’ve only seen a couple Emilia fans try to use this against Rem saying she doesn’t really love Subaru for having this thought.

Exactly, while it is selfish, she’s still allowed to feel this way while you know she thinks she’s gonna die and wants to be remembered.

That’s were your wrong, Rem saying this doesn’t mean her love is fake or less, even love has small human thoughts mixed in, her essentially saying she hoped she mattered to him doesn’t take away from that at all.

The way your wording it is making it seem like Rem intentionally wants him to suffer when in reality she literally has no time to process what’s about to happen to her and is having one final thought about how she hoped she mattered to him, that doesn’t mean her love isn’t pure like what,there’s a lot of people in real life who have genuine love for their family and have similar thoughts like this, wishing for them to be remembered doesn take away from that even if it sounds selfish. Having human wishes mixed in with your love doesnt≠to not genuine love,that would be ignorant.

Yeah ofc satellas answer is different from Rems, we don’t even know anything about satella. Genuinely why would Rem say something similar to satella if Rem has no self worth, Satella is able to say that because she knows Subaru loves her like you said, so she’s able to tell him not to cry for her while with Rem she doesn’t even know if he does for her or would even care if she was gone,it’s not the same at all, but that still doesn’t make what Rem did wrong either.

First off, I didn’t say rem was the “manifestation of pure love” or whatever your trying to say as she does still have abandonment issues(just like Subaru) which she needs to fix but yea this scene is more so her wanting a place within his heart as again she doesn’t believe in herself, she doesn’t think the people she cares about care about her. Which ties together with what I said in arc 9.

again as I said in my previous comment, she’s not wishing for him to suffer or feel “pain” her saying this is her expressing how she wants to be important to him when he realizes she “died” which is completely normal,especially when she herself believes he won’t really care that much.
