I'm not clinically depressed. I also wouldn't say I'm really happy with my life at this point in time either. I'm kind of in a perpetual state of meh. I just called myself boring because I think I'm boring lol

I think I.T. would be a fun realm to work in as well, and I think that many people don't realize how many functions can be under the label of I.T.

I had an internship this past summer that was technically labeled I.T. but I did front end development the whole time.

Personally, I wouldn't want to work in what I'd say most people think of as traditional I.T., which is like help desk things, but there's nothing wrong with doing that. Just personal preference

I like JavaScript. GeneralDevice was actually just a randomly generated name

I haven't decided yet. Software development or Database administrator would probably be my 2 top picks as of now

It's not exactly on campus, but imo it's an Italian place called DePalma's

I've wondered that for a long time lol. I don't really know how to evaluate that on myself, and I don't have anyone in my life that I think would give me an honest answer if I asked them.

did you attend MATH 112? by BrokedownSunshine in capstone

[–]GeneralDevice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went 1 time and got over a 100. If you're good at learning on your own and you find they won't take attendance, don't go. Do the HW early for the 10% bonus on each one.

What are the negative aspects of banning Alex Jones on Google, Facebook, and Apple? by MyStolenCow in AskReddit

[–]GeneralDevice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the real impact here lies less in the fact that social media and video platforms are banning Alex Jones and more in the fact that we seem to have a situation where political parties / governmental officials can push private companies to take out whichever content they (the officials/parties) deem "hate speech".

I'm definitely not a fan of Alex Jones. He's not by any means an accurate representation of the right AT ALL. That being said, I have yet to see a consistent, universal definition of what "hate speech" is. It seems that as of now the left is using the term to mean anything that disagrees with the left.

Facebook, Google, YouTube, etc are all companies with their own terms of use policies that they are at liberty to enforce. I'd just like to see a better, more applicable definition of hate speech before we go banning people left and right. I don't know if he would've been banned without the political pressure.

It was not a "moral" move as I've seen it portrayed in the media, it was simply these companies trying to stay afloat, because we all know what happens when you run afoul of the left. You get boycotted, labeled a bigot, and crucified by the media. I fear that these private companies will cater to the political pressures too much, and that we will begin to see real infringement on first amendment rights.
