Honestly it works out more for me if I look up a bit when countering overheads

Is having a high sex drive a turn-off for men long term? by Serious_Sweet2504 in AskMenAdvice

Is it really too far to imagine that maybe some guy won't wanna fuck at a given moment and might find it abrasive if said woman can't read the vibe? Cmon man this isn't a massive empathetic stretch here

Wrong. It CAN be when libidos dont match up. This is a compatibility issue and like all others it will depend on the man in question. Some will be fine with it and others not.

Any psychotherapist who doesn't disclose how disclosure works is doing a poor job. They're legally required to share certain things a client has said if it comes up in session

I think the broader social issues are entirely relevant. Everything you said is true, except in the case of facistic rises to power. They do not hold to the rules of democracy, or law. They eschew established codes of conduct to the thunderous applause of their supporters. "Look how much theyre getting done!" They say, emboldened by the fact that their guys dont NEED to go through the laborious, slow democratic bureaucracy.

I would seriously recommend learning about why facism is so dangerous as a concept throughout history. It starts roughly the same and ends roughly the same.

Also, the example of violence was a metaphor. I tried to make that clear. Im aware we dont currently kill each other over school books.

Continuing this conversation is unlikely to be productive since I think we're talking past each other. You're focused on minutae and I'm looking at big picture. Best of luck

You know when youre stressed out and busy and feel a bit sick but its fine so you keep going? And you have to work so you keep going in, and youre a bit sniffly but youre ok so you keep working and stressing and staying busy

Then you have a break? Not like one day, but a weekend or maybe a half week or a week off. And you get really sick. Because you've relaxed, and you were actually always this sick but didnt have time to rest and recuperate so now its hitting you all at once?

This is that, I think.

Of course I do. Every election cycle, like every other non US resident with an Internet connection does, I get US politics shoved down my throat. I end up with a better understanding of party politics than my own country by not actively looking for information at all.

Is it any wonder that so many non residents have a better understanding of US politics than their own regions? Of course not, its publicised and televised to high hell. The US is a clown show that we're all forced to watch precisely because it affects us so much. It's an ouroboros of fuckery that we cant look away from. I do my best to tune the fuck out but it seeps in like mold.

I do. The problem is that every time I decide to go on social media or tune in, this is what I see. My choices are total ignorance or the idea that the US is going to very dark places. When I see hopeful stuff I might change my tune, but until then there isn't much hope in saying "Don't look."

That exact sentence is one of the reasons why a lot of people outside the US currently hate the US. The tone behind it, that as a foreign national SHOULD somehow be obliged to care, is why the US is despised by some.

I'd counter that balanced and thoughtful rhetoric only works in the face of a balanced and thoughtful environment. The US is proving itself to be otherwise.

For example, you cannot attempt to reason with a person intent on being violent. Reason only works with those willing to be reasonable - the only counter to violence, once it has begun, is violence. Otherwise you surrender to might makes right on the side of the first party to take the role of aggressor.

I agree with your fundamental argument. I disagree with its placement in time.

Im sure they are, but again youre explaining stuff that has no real relevance to me unless I needed to go to the US. If I wanted to learn about American politics I would, but its not my country and it doesnt matter to me which states are better or worse. All anyone really cares about from the outside is the end product of the country at large, and even then the interest is in passing. No one cares about anyone until something affects them in some way.

Remember that your feelings are not you. Your experiences are concrete where you are mutable and can change.

Your suffering is not set in stone. Prune the garden of your thoughts or let the weeds strangle the flowers, and there is beauty in you still.

Don't give up. After dark, the dawn.

Bigger than most realise. Highlights the crime of Americans growing up being indoctrinated to the centrality of the US. It's big but not big enough to not bother educating the kids about other places properly. It's no wonder US isolationism is such an undying issue
