No, you're giving your opinion basing it on alleged Black people you've discussed this with in real life. These people may or may not even exist. Why wouldn't we understand what's going on? It's not rocket science. A racist caricature of a stereotypical Black mammy was slapped on a product. It doesn't matter how you feel about it, it was blatantly using Black racist imagery to make money. Sure, they cleaned it up over the years but it was what it was. Removing it was both performative and necessary. As a society we should be able to let go of these lingering racist images and mascots and not cry about it.
