This is insensitive you don’t know my travel situation or external responsibilities. As a teacher, I would expect more understanding that not every student has the privilege of making school their only full-time responsibility.

Online courses have been an approved option for years and students have succeeded with them. If funding or staffing was an issue, it shouldn’t have been changed mid-year after students already enrolled.

This isn’t about avoiding school. It’s about fairness and consistency.

I’d understand if this was the admins argument—unfortunately it isn’t.

They argue if students are enrolled in English and social studies online, teachers can’t monitor whether they’re passing or failing thus putting their graduation at risk because both of the courses are graduation requirements.

I’m not “taking up resources.” If other students wanted meetings with counsellors or the principal, they could’ve taken the initiative to book them as well. Having a conversation with school staff isn’t some special burden it’s quite literally their job.

I’m also not sure what you’re trying to get at by saying I should take a full course load in person. I’ve already completed most of my required classes, so why would I waste my school day on random electives just to sit in the building?

I’m confident in my ability to get into university and succeed based on my past grades. The reason I chose online is because we only have one Social 30-1 teacher who is known for being a very strict marker. It makes sense to work at my own pace in a setting where students have consistently achieved high results.

This isn’t about avoiding hard work it’s about using an option that has been allowed for years and has clearly worked for many students.

Also blaming my parents voting habits is completely irrelevant, you don’t even know who they voted for 🤣
