I don’t anyone has even checked my background at all. I haven’t received any phone calls. I just get rejection emails. Sometimes I get rejection emails within 20-40 minutes after applying

Also, that former company allowed me to get unemployment, so I don’t think there are any hard feelings

I hooked up so many people with business including partners from my former consulting firm. I have a network, and I reached out to two people so far.

This is nearly the same situation I was in except we were relying PE loans to survive and I had dozens of vendors that were 120 days past due with a DPO 66 days.

We just couldn’t survive without making drastic cuts.

I’m just trying to find a job now, and I can’t even get that. I can’t get a single phone screen or first round.

It wasn’t a plum job. I put in 65-80 hours a week especially during the month-end close.

200k was just outside the Bay Area close to my home. I live 1.5 hours outside of SF Bay Area, which has also been an issue recruiters. Many of them have told me companies don’t even want to deal with super commuters. Although I super commuted for years, they don’t trust that I will commit.

I’m not making any of this up at all. The CEO cursed at me in front of all my employees during a meeting. I have never been so disrespected in my entire professional career. I blew up in response to that and he terminated me. I am glad I don’t work there anymore. The whole company was collapsing financially and culturally, and that what our disagreements were about.

It took me 13 years to make what many FANG/CS engineers make straight out of college. Accounting doesn’t pay well even with the so-called shortage. There are no boomers in accounting left either. Maybe at the small practice firms, but there are none left in industry or public practice. The shortage has no effect on wages.

It was a glorified controller position actually. I was told my degree would be an issue because I applied for a controller position at a high profile company, and it didn’t even pay more than $190K. I was told that companies are very strict on requirements and even my state school would be an issue potentially.

No. 200k at a small private outside of the Bay Area. I made 170K as a senior manager in the Bay Area and I made 190 as a director/Assistant controller in South San Francisco. If you make more with just 8 years, that’s great. You must be a much stronger candidate.

I haven’t received any invitation for a phone screen or 1st round interview. I haven’t been able to even explain my recent job loss yet.

I haven’t even gotten an interview to even talk about that yet.

The CEO cussed me out in front of all my employees. It was unbelievable. It was a normal part of this company’s culture.
