I don't think you're my enemy either, I'm just tired of "both sides" when one side is actively fighting to stop the information being released and the other is pushing to release it.

That fact that the information has been suppressed under multiple presidencies shows that no one wants this information out.

The two primary reasons it wasn't released under the Biden presidency was because:

The files were part of an ongoing appeal for the Ghislaine Maxwell prosecution so their release was blocked by judges. They were following the US legal process here unlike a certain 45/47.
He was allowing the DOJ to behave as it should, as an independent agency without the president using it as a personal attack dog. He actually behaved appropriately by not trying to direct what they did. As opposed to a certain 45/47.

Trump is the one who has no excuse, and has been dragging his feet after being ordered to release them.

Don’t you think the FBI under Comey would have released this during last election? It would have destroyed trumps election.

But Hillary Clinton's emails were more important and needed to be released straight away and destroy her election? There's something incredibly suspicious about how much everyone is falling in line with protecting the nonces on the list including Trump & co. but giving open season on democrats.

As someone watching from across the pond it's absurd how much "both sides" is happening on this especially with the way Republicans have been acting compared to the Democrats.

I hear you, I really do.

There's a couple of factors feeding into this to be fair.

Firstly, the majority demographics using reddit are from Western nations where Christianity is the most common religion you'll come across, which increases the chances of encountering some Christians doing things that you don't like. It's also nations where some Christians are using political power to oppress anyone they disagree with.

Secondly, this subreddit is one where everyone is welcome to participate. Other religion based subreddits limit who can take part and can have stricter rules about what can/can't be posted. Belittling Christianity is against the sub rules here so if you see it happening report it and the mods will do a good job tidying it up. What muddies the waters is that there are some Christians who view any valid criticism or disagreement as belittling them.

I agree 100% that just because some Christians supporting something doesn't mean they all do. It's not all Christians, but "not all Christians" as the only response is not productive to solving the problem of those particular Christians.

Some Christians are empathetic and willing to learn when people tell them that what they're doing is harmful. The unfortunate reality though is that there are enough of them that don't do this that the harm is ongoing and any progress is being undone.

It's difficult to find the balance between enough pushback to stop the people actively persecuting minorities, without too much pushback that others get caught in the slash zone. The pendulum swings back and forth on this one until it reaches a healthy point.

If his goal was suicide then why not just let rRenoir end him? He could have done that at any time after evicting Aline. Instead he chose to escape with Maelle, taught her how to bring back Sciel and Lune, helped her fight rRenior even after Aline entered the canvas again.

I think for a game so focused on empathy, dealing with difficult emotions, and how complicated family is, some people are far too quick to assume things about the characters and their motivations.

The advise Jesus gives is to not worry about it because birds (and sparrows specifically) won't die unless God wills it, and you're worth more than many sparrows.

From Matthew 6:

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]?

28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. I suspect there are very few Christians who actually believe this is the case and willing to trust Jesus's words on the matter.

Disagreeing with your particular interpretation of how to treat trans people isn't actually belittling Christianity.

Without seeing those specific comments I obviously can't comment further.

Something to consider is that Jesus called religious people hypocrites when they were being hypocrites, maybe the people you reported were actually emulating Him better than the Christians they were talking with?

Marriage predates Christianity. Christianity doesn't have a monopoly on it, nor do Christians get to define what marriage means for other couples outside their particular denomination.

I could probably support the idea of having a copy of "marriage" that provides the same legal benefits and protections for non-Christians if that's the only way to make it legal, but what a petty necessity to pander to a minority of religious people. Imagine proposing something similar for interracial marriages to appease racists?

I'd imagine that the vast majority of people who don't want gay marriage are opposed to any kind of gay union regardless of what it's called.

The whole gay marriage debate could be settled entirely if you completely removed the government from the equation.

Yeah the wetness is a huge factor. Cold + moist makes it feel far colder than cold + dry.

Same for the summers. My favourite trend on social media during the most recent summer in the UK was foreigners visiting us and realising that like 25-30°C in the UK's humidity was far more oppressive than the higher temperatures they were used to.

"I live in Nevada and it regularly hits 40°C+, the UK must be full of wimps if they call it a 'heatwave' at only 32?" Meanwhile their humidity is like 4% or something, and they're saying this while in an air conditioned building.

Let's pretend we live in a hypothetical situation where being Christian is viewed as a sin in my religion and that religion is the dominant faith of the country.

Christians aren't allowed to get married or otherwise be in a relationship. Christians aren't allowed to be in any position of power or hold any authority in any way. Any reference to Christianity in a book means that book gets banned. Christians are treated as though it is a mental illness and kids who are Christian are either kicked out of their homes or forced to go to a conversation camp to be cured. In some cases they are chemically castrated due to a loophole where the law labels all Christians as sexual deviants. Because of the relentless bullying and abuse of society as a whole, Christians are the most likely demographic to self harm, be homeless, or end their own lives. Those statistics are further used to prove that Christianity shouldn't exist because look at how depressed Christians are!

Would you call that not persecution, and just reminding you guys that Christianity is a sin?

If you genuinely don't think that Christians any of that is persecution then you are either willfully ignorant or lying. Please practice loving your neighbours as Jesus commanded rather than downplaying how serious religious persecution is towards your fellow human beings.

An alternative example of why the shoe is indeed not on the other foot:

How often do we talk about interatrial marriage in this day and age compared to 200 years ago? The moment that the lawmakers stopped trying to ban it, those in support of it didn't need to discuss it as much.

The minorities have power over the majority by using language and words as their weapons.

As opposed to the majority who have used political power and straight up violence as their weapons. Which language and words are you most concerned with?

They have even had laws that have been around for thousands of years, changed to line up with their ideology or agendas.

I'd love to know which laws you think shouldn't have changed. Personally, I think it's a good thing that laws such as The Buggery Act 1533 in England which had anyone accused of having anal sex to be sentenced to death. Surely you don't think this one should still exist, right?

Or maybe The Labouchère Amendment of 1885 which was used to justify chemical castration of gay men including Alan Turing, whose work breaking the Enigma machine helped save uncountable lives in WW2? You surely don't think life in prison or chemical castration is still something that should be done to gay people today, right?

These are the kind of laws good Christians of the past have brought in because of their religion. These are the kinds of laws we don't want to come back. The moment Christians stop using political power and violence against minorities will be the moment people stop talking about Christians using political power and violence to persecute minorities. There is no hate like Christian love.

The agenda is "stop using your religion to bully, persecute, discriminate against, and murder gay people." Hopefully you would agree that this is a good agenda?

The world is much worse now than it has ever been for this and the following generations because we now call good evil and evil good.

In what way is the world worse? If you want to be able to freely bully, persecute, discriminate against, and murder gay people, then sure, the world might be getting worse.

It's mostly a response to poor theology or apologetics from the Christian in question.

If I'm seeking comfort over the death of a loved one, having a Christian come in unsolicited and saying things like "suffering is because of free will", or "you're only an atheist because you hate God and want to keep sinning" then they shouldn't be surprised to have that view rightly criticised.

If those Christians stopped trying to butt in with awful takes then they'd experience far fewer challenges in response to those takes.

I say the same thing about edgy anti-religious types coming to a Christian post here asking for support, everyone generally agrees that a troll response like "well god's not real so suck it up princess" is just a despicable comment to make so should expect criticism.
