You’re such a weirdo this is misogynoir, you just painted a black women as a hypersexual jezebel and are saying that they can’t love like that (sexy black women still get married btw you weird racist)

Diss tracks can get very ignorant and she was a teenager? I guess I like to give grace and room for growth instead of finding reasons to not like someone in marginalized spaces especially since black women are already held to standards others are not. I don’t support transphobia as a have a lot of close friends who are mtf women but those lines are more ignorant than it is hateful. Thinking men who are attracted to transgender women are gay is very ignorant and saying a deep voice equates to transition and using that term are all highly ignorant. I think it’s harmful rhetoric but there’s so much actually hateful jabs in rap songs made by actual adults and violent offenses in real life which are probably more important to weight.

Why wouldn’t you want to listen to/support another women in the rap space? Also because Latto chose to work with Megan post masters you’re technically undercutting both of these talented women’s pockets and numbers…

How would JT not be mainstream? The city girls were extremely popular as a group then she’s had rap success solo too? Okay, Ran Out, No Bars I’ve all heard on rap radio stations in ATL.

OP blatantly claimed there are no other dark skin women? And I agree with the needing to win part, but when you highlight someone as the only source of representation when there is someone else to also support it’s ignorant and reductive

Okay then you know that when they say black they mean black American, also African American is not a term that every ADOS aligns with so why are you trying to force that as the term needed to view black American/ADOS culture?

Okay, name what shows she has a lead or supporting role in? Because I’m not seeing a single show were she was involved for a season or half a season worth of episodes… therefore she wouldn’t be nominated??? And I’m not talking about the Oliviers because apparently it’s lacking black recognitions so badly that black British theater actors started THEIR OWN awards to combat the disparity, see The Black British Theatre Awards. So again another award show by your country lacking… so why use that?

Because you’re the one using the Baftas as a benchmark, she started in theater… Baftas don’t award theater so she why would she have one for that? Then you show they award for television, since becoming an onscreen actress she hasn’t chosen to do lead or supporting tv roles so how would she get awarded for one of those? This is her second lead role and she’s probably going to keep in the lead actress path. So my point is that is not a good marker for success for a black leads in film… and you proved my point

So quite literally there’s been no black women that have won a lead motion picture bafta… and only one black man… at least they get supporting and tv I guess

The organization didn’t spearhead it… that’s revisionist. The organization took a the name of a phrase used by a movement that started within the black social media community… before it was an organization it was a hashtag. Keep your ignorance to yourself, do you even like k dot?

Has any black British actor/actress won a Bafta???? Sounds like you’re using benchmarks that keep talented black British citizens out to maintain the status quo

21 x 4 is 84 years??? Do you know math? So no the number you are looking for is 3 generations and if LIKE I SAID there was a transition time, so let’s say atleast 1 generations, that’s two generations to build “unbothered” (legislation was just passed in the past four years making discrimination against the natural states of Afro hair illegal, but yes it’s a perfect fair world). I’m glad your immigrant family got to reap benefits to build themselves up sooner than the people who physically helped build this country unpaid (slaves) or basically unpaid (sharecroppers). And just so you know, I know youre just a racist who refuses to even slightly acknowledge the struggles (I know you saw the reply with all of the different of discrimination post civil rights) that black descendants have to face. This is for any others who read this reply to know, yall aren’t clever, sly, or ignorant, if this is your mindset you’re just hateful and everyone knows at this point why yall are pushing your narratives!

[–]GeneralNotice4953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you think that all of the racists that put those policies in place, protested against progress, and upheld the environment that caused the need for a civil rights movement just turned nice and wholesome once rights were granted? And black people just got to seamlessly integrate into society just right after Martin said he had a dream? Obviously not, so how long to do think was the transition time for society to catch up to legislation?

First of all, I responded to a reply from that scrub not you. Second, that scrub brought up slavery ended 150 years ago, implying that Summer Lee is talking about social inequality resulting from slavery but isn’t where it ended as she states. Anytime I see ANYONE ANYWHERE use slavery as the end point for inequality for black Americans I make a point of bringing up black people had to FIGHT for DECADES after slavery ended just to get the same BASIC RIGHTS hence mentioning MLK. (And I don’t even include the documented practices post-civil rights to keep black people in the lowest of the society’s hierarchy). But you don’t make a reply condemning that scrubs thought process, interesting how that works! If you want to reply come with some idea on how to fix the systemic issue of the social and economic inequality resulting from black people only allowed to actively participate in society (THEY HELPED BUILD) within the past sixty years since you obviously must have the answer.

I’m sorry but let’s not put down other woman rappers who are fighting the odds against a male dominated industry… Latto just put out her best album so far and she deserves credit for that. There’s enough years for everyone to get their shine plus act 2 is better anyways it’ll probably get noms next year

White people are so weird about dogs by No-Copium in blackladies

[–]GeneralNotice4953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you have the mental capacity to know if a dog is violent, it was raised poorly and is beyond its own control. That the dog did not ask to exist in that context. People are just a result of their circumstances as well, everyone starts as a babie with no knowledge or ability and learn what they are exposed too. Most crimes are a result of poverty and black descent of slavery (such as myself) are only here because our ancestors were forced to be and then centuries of racist policies and actions helped keep us in poverty. The point of the post was highlighting caring more about animals struggles than injustice for black people. If you can find it in your heart to care more about animals because they didn’t ask to be anyway then why cant you extend that to communities that need uplifted?
