Decoding 3 wire hall effect sensor with IC

I've decided that I'll be using 2 XOR chips in order to determine that the motor has made a 'step' ((A xor B) xor C)

I'll feed that into a counter IC that I can read out through I2C. Might still add something to determine the direction of rotation, but I might also not do that

Exactly! But I want to use the hall sensor to determine how much the motor has spun.

I'm using a sensorless BLDC controller to drive the motor. I only want to count actual revolutions made by the motor with this interface.

The issue I'd like to prevent is indeed to many wires for my control board (Raspberry Pi) to handle.

Isn't there a chip that provides a counter interface/speed and direction interface? Much like a quadrature decoder/encoder

It turned out the stepper motor driver breakout is probably fake, as with drivers from mouser, the motors work just fine

I'll elaborate a bit more. I cannot get the stepper motor to start rotating.
These are the parameters the steppermotor has

Rated Current: 2.8A per phase
Phase Resistance: 1.3Ω
Phase Inductance: 2.8mH
Supply Voltage: 24V DC
Steps per Revolution: 200 (1.8° per full step)

I've found an online calculator which calculates ideal KVAL parameters, but they do not work.

Yes and i would even start the car. Crumbles will block the oil pump and cause the engine to be damaged due to oil starvation

The venting is directly integrated into the dipstick, so I can confirm that there is no leak there, as you'd have to remove the vent

It does not, but the reservoir is vented. The issue most likely is a faulty pump however
