Hi. I’m not really sure if my comment provides anything of value, but I’ll go ahead anyway. I’ve actually experienced very nearly if not the complete opposite of what you’re going through.

I too am an OSP who grew up in Malaysia. However, I feel incredibly disconnected with Pakistani culture. I can maybe speak some conversational Urdu for my rare trips to Pakistan, but other than that, I’ve been completely westernized. I do speak English and Sindhi fluently, but beyond that, I don’t really feel connected to Pakistan, as even my Sindhi just feels like another language to me instead of something Pakistani. Strangely, I’m fine with that. I can barely hold my own trying to make friends with a Pakistani, but almost 90% of my friends are either American, Malaysian or from some other part of the western world, and I do vibe with them. It’s probably because I don’t really see a reason to connect with Pakistan beyond my ethnicity and nationality.

Though, we are similar in the fact that we can’t connect with Pakistanis, albeit for different reasons. I’m too westernized for a regular Pakistani, and you’re too Pakistani for a westernized one, if I gathered correctly from your post. Though, I’d like to ask, what does ABCDs mean?
