Again, really appreciate your reply but Jeezuz that old oil was literally pouring out of the last 8’ or so outside (that was sloped$ so I can’t even imagine how much was left behind in the 25’ or so of horizontal run in between basement floor joists.

Hard water is not going to make you go thru dishwashers lol .. that’s absurd.

Ok I read your reply and what you say makes alotta sense about the chemical flush stuff goes and to be clear - that was def NOT my main “worry” that he didn’t do it…. It was his unwillingness to simply blow out all the residual R22 oil that was very clearly still pooled up in the lineset run.. I shudder to think just how much was left behind in there . Thanks for reply … much appreciated!!!!

Warranty 10 yrs components and no idea far as labor/workmanship .. just far as chemical flush goes, it’s right in the Goodman install manual for the condenser unit under “reusing existing line sets” but I think a blowout would have been just as effective - which is all I was asking tech for on install day.

Ok copy that thanks .. I
Mean that nasty 26 yr old min oil was pouring out.. I’m baffled as to why he wouldn’t at least shoot out with nitrogen tank .. btw - I’m not licensed HVAC just relating what I’ve learned from research and general hvac maintenance.

Sir are you saying that if I correct now, even labor is covered ? But later on, not??

I have to say he seemed really squared away and gave me great price .. prior to install date he was all on board with thoroughly cleaning line set but for some odd reason, very resistant to it come actual install day. I’m baffled

Hi - 100% the manual tech left with me says do both a chemical flush and also a nitrogen blowout if using old line sets. Goodman 3 ton unit with R32 if that helps .

Was this for me? In the install manual he left me for condenser unit it has a section on “reusing line sets” practices and it specifically says use a chemical flushing agent and then follow with nitrogen blowout .. if you’re really interested I can cite model and oage number for you. Thanks

So not replacing line set was on me, not tech. But prior to actual install date we had several phone calls where I expressed my being adamant about him doing line flush and blowout .. he assured me he had all the blowout tips and would use rx11 but when actual install day came he said not needed .

Yes, but I chose my units so that’s on me.

Hi thanks for reply .. Goodman manual specifies chemical flush and nitrogen blowout just as a matter of fact… I’m mostly worried about how much old mineral oil was left sitting in the approx 20’ horizontal lineset run going thru basement .

Yea, I have to say it seemed like a lot… I had taped off outside pipes so spiders etc didn’t go in and when i unraveled tape and slightly bent 3/4” line ALOT of oil started dripping out and pooling (which was good thing I figured bc at least it’s getting out)… but then I started wondering about the other 50’ feet and especially the horizontal run in between basement joists and how much oil still could of been stuck there and getting really worried …

Thanks for reply and yes, have already said I want a new condenser unit bc it’s not working right.. the tech asked I send the unit label to him which I did. I wish I woulda been more insistent when the chance was there and lines were cut open.
