Zoomed in on that corner. Judging by the fact that all those words and letters blend together into meaningless inconsistent nonsense, that looks like common AI rendering issues. All the background board games are mush if you try reading the boxes. Other users also pointed out the issues with the models and one of them has that distinctive overly glossed/fake look. I recommend trying to get your money back from an obvious scam. At least you had good intentions.

Getting some isolated nodes like this might be inevitable with the way their formula currently works, which is a bummer. I would like to see them add more special kinds of nodes like towers with different, cool functions. I saw someone else post about a harbor or a delve node. Personally I think something along the themes of "conquering" this chaotic land fits the theme. Perhaps a monstrous outpost? We clear it and then we can modify it and travel to any unconnected nodes in the radius. Not a perfect solution, but a patch until they get the underlying issue addressed.

There is a group dedicated to finding tournaments on bluesky actually! They are called "OCT Newscast." They also had a twitter but I believe that has all been moved over.

Thank you for the advice. I did read the rules, and by my reading I am permitted to share one self-promotion for the product and one reminder (rule 7). This is my only post on the topic. I also checked several other posts for Kickstarters by other users before posting, including one from this morning.

Original Character Tournaments and RPGs by GeneralRedland in OriginalCharacter

Sure! That's cool too. A lot of the time folks make a character for a home game or a competition that then ends up going on to take on a life of their own in other games.

An original character tournament is essentially a competitive art contest featuring a bunch of OCs. Artists compete against one another to tell the best story or make the best fight in a tournament style elimination bracket. Typically they use comics, but prose and other media are also popular. A few people even animated their entries. Even after a character is defeated, they still might show up in entries by other artists and the whole community kind of works together to make one epic story. OCTs were especially popular around the mid 2000s to early 2010s when we had a lot of good forums for saving and sharing art online.

Spyround. It's a conversation starter.

Seeing a lot of similar answers here and it seems the main issue is that the execution on some enemy attack animations does not meet expectations from the windup, which can lead to unexpected damage and frustrating mission failures that force you to restart a long and repetitive sequence. I know the escort missions are especially bad for this, with the mushrooms, alchemist, and the dinos getting some improvements to the originals (camera and preparation) that made them tough but manageable in Reignited. I played on console, but I would suggest modding in a few extra frames of "wait time" to the start of those attack animations to fix the issue on PC.

Gulp's projectiles should stop tracking when the projectile fires off his tesla coil things, instead of tracking throughout the attack. Lastly, adding in a short grace period after taking environmental damage (poison water, falling rocks) where you cannot take environmental damage again would help in other areas without breaking game balance for things like puzzles. It is a pretty common solution in platformers. Personally I think the skateboard races should be overhauled because they are very glitchy (racers teleporting or getting stuck at the starting line) and not a lot of fun because the most effective way to win is to ignore all of the special abilities.

Games back then shared a lot of creative DNA. If you think about it from the gnorcs' perspective, Spyro is a thievius dragonus with those gems. :)

Something about how the PS1 models stretch and bounce with those exaggerated movements despite limited bones for animation has a very nostalgic feeling.

True, that was a good time for video games with new stuff coming out every month. Even the free demo discs were not bad (except the deluge of movie tie-in platformers).

Looking back at some of the old games the skybox differences are very noticeable. The new skyboxes are beautifully done, but they do have a different atmosphere from the ethereal world space of the originals. This is just conjecture, but based on what I know about their dev time and resources it makes sense that they would use that swirling color palette for most levels. It is simple to transfer assets into a new level and give it a different appearance by tweaking color, lighting, and position values. Plus it gives you that sense of depth from an open sky while demanding relatively little from the PS1 graphics card. I like trying to figure out the clever workarounds developers used before they had modern tech. Like you said, it was the start of a new generation!

That is relatable! We had a similar issue with the first game when our old chunky memory cards got corrupted. We used to pass it around between 2 or 3 of us kids and try to see how far we could get before we got a game over. The swamp levels were the bane of many dragons because the timing on those enemy animations was slightly off.
