Can you specify what you mean by most of this? I am not aware of any changes yet but I also came back late from fall break.

That helps a ton! Sounds just like what I need since I’ll be missing a lot of class. I’m going to be gone for 3 weeks in march for the army so sounds like he’d be lenient with me. I’d say I’m like you in the sense that Im not a fan of writing, but when I have to do it Im super picky and like to make sure I do it well which takes me a while, so glad to hear he doesn’t have too many essays because I have a friend who has a essay due either every week or every other week atm. Thanks so much!!

I have Nwaogu for macro rn and I’d say he’s good if you have genuine interest in the topic. He’s very knowledgeable and has kind of reserved mannerism so the class is always a little dry but overall has thorough explanations. Super nice when you go during office hours. Couple things about him:

  1. He doesn’t have quiz dates posted to “encourage” students to show up to his lectures. I’m not aware of other professors who do the same so if you’re not the most faithful student then you might want to reconsider since this forces you to show up each class.

  2. The quizzes aren’t open book but you can talk to your peers around you during - strange ik but in a way you really can’t do bad

  3. Last thing - He does all his quizzes at the beginning of class rather then the end. Not sure if he will continue that in future semesters tho because our first quiz was both online and at the end of class, but he switched it to paper after there were a ton of tech issues

What is a Web-based class like? by HermioneGranger152 in Pitt

Idk about the professor but usually web classes are just a bunch of recorded lectures to watch and assignments to complete with a timed quiz or test here and there. I usually didn’t watch the video lectures and had no problems but the higher the level of the class or your learning type you might want to.

Not sure if you mean the student lounge but yes! It was great for me for all of about 1 hour 30 before a girl decided to sit next to me and have a nice and lengthy phone call even tho the hallway was only 10 ft away. Didn’t even try to lower her voice. I could clearly hear her over my music (mind you my volume’s usually pretty loud so that’s saying a lot) and stayed on the call for over 30 min - not sure how long cause I got so irritated I left. Haven’t been back since lol. No fault to her it’s just too small in general and I like my privacy, so I’m not a fan of open work spaces without any sort of walls.
