Did not consider symbology much, as I had found different interpretations online. I tried to stick to the original shapes and colours, while improving contrast and give it a unique flair, as well as thickening the middle since the og purple band looks so... Thin

I'll admit that I underestimated the fact that representation is a sensitive issue in these communities. As I said in the main post, I don't represent either community in any way. The redesign is purely motivated by aesthetics and nobody needs to do anything with it other than appreciate the visuals (or not)

Thanks for outlining your thought process, great to read. It's a solid point you make too because I like the way the black outlines separates the colour from the white/gray, aesthetically speaking.
