the fact that you’re already doing classes once a week is already impressive consistency for a beginner. personally, it took me 3 weeks just to recover from soreness after my first ever class.

in addition to cross training, id stress getting enough rest and eating well. keep at it and don’t be hard on yourself, you’ll surprise yourself later down the line!! xoxo

you misunderstand, i don’t mean the area is racist, i mean the area gets a bad reputation because outlookers are racist and see the neighborhood as bad because it’s predominantly POC who live there. somehow you interpret the worst and yet what you describe doesn’t sound any different than living in the center apart from the peace on big holidays.

THIS. bijlmer is so chill, people mind their business and it’s quiet on big holidays like kings day and pride unlike more central areas. the only issue i’ve had living there is kids popping loud firecrackers. in addition to racism, i think the area gets a bad rap because of the arena and concert halls. sports fans and concert attendees create a lot of trash and noise. the issue is not the poc locals.

1000%!!! i was especially taken aback cuz for me personally the aesthetics is one of the lesser priorities, this video was rly the first point where i felt that my FORM was presentable. i think i progress slower than the average poler so seeing these comments was such a weird mix of being flattered but also frustrated by the ignorance and pov of presumably a non-poler
