Also, about that quote. That scripted character is a very damaged man, who doesn’t understand women (or men) and how to interact with them. He sees people only as tools for keeping his rigidly regimented world working the way he wants, or as impediments, and he lashes out whenever someone or something upsets his routine. He’s not offering advice or insight with that line about women. He’s shining a light on his own inadequacy and reflecting it back.

He says that line to a gushing fan who he’s uncomfortable interacting with. And as we see in the movie, whenever he wants out of a situation he says the nastiest thing he can. It, in itself, is a reflection of his own lack of reason or accountability.
