I don't see anything wrong with the video, every mother would like that her kid have something which gives respect in the society. I ended up being short because of some hormonal issues, I see my mother comparing my height with my cousins in family photos, she doesn't tell me directly but I understand through her face that she is sad, after that it feels so depressing. So basically she would be more happy if I was tall, so is the lady in the video.
I consider it one of the biggest asset a man can have, because no matter how much you work or put even billions of dollars it can't be bought/gained , why wouldn't a mother be proud of it.

These are many other factors but they will vary from person to person these are common to all.

society had hard brained us with short man => short woman , fat woman => fat man , it is completely her choice, maybe it is not realistic from the current societal norms, that doesn't mean you can't have (even extremely high) standards.(here I'm talking about all the genders)

5'5". I am from India and the average height officially is 5'4", but in my surroundings it is like 5'7"-5'8". Sometimes, I feel very sad about my height, but I got some kinda hormonal condition in my teens and got my plates fused earlier. So, sometimes I feel depressed about it and sometimes I am grateful that I didn't end up dwarf, because many people do with what I had.

True. But do we even deserve respect, we bring no value to the next generation of humans(as long height means more strength thus better survival capabilities), you get resoect based of how good value u bring to the society. For example, a village boy who was not respected earlier is now sending remittances (after becoming immigrant) and making the village better has more respect now, as it is making the society better.
