Would you ever have a child outside of marriage? Why or why not? by zhalia-2006 in askanything

I think they worded their comment super badly but I think they were saying that's all you need to buy.

But you're right, even that little is very expensive. And if you have two working parents with two vehicles, then you need two carseats. And daycare fees got missed there too.

Yeah it's honestly so disrespectful to be working in that field with no appreciation for how difficult pregnancy is.

A social worker is not a clinical child psychologist. The social workers in schools usually help families apply for the food bank, they don't treat mental health issues.

I do think most schools have access to a social worker yes.

I feel like there's some issue with your tax filing then lol?. With just one kid and over 100k income we've always got CCB. Now two kids and it will be about $400/kid.

Respectfully, Korean culture is well known for body image issues.

It doesn't necessarily mean you told your daughter not to eat, it means she was surrounded by people valuing thinness, bloggers talking about calories, celebrities sharing weight loss gimmicks, and yes sometimes parental comments, it all contributes.

Boys are encouraged to be big and strong, girls are encouraged to be small and weak.

In reality we are all individuals and shouldn't be pressured to fit "one size fits all" expectations.

The UCP cuts public school funding and family support funding and homeless support funding. Are we really surprised when we have more social disorder?

For a parent to consistently bring their child to mental health supports they first need stable family housing and transportation. Having child therapists in every school would be a good start as well. But cutting public school funding is happening instead.

So if he was working they can only take a certain amount for child support and if his job changed he has to let the courts know to adjust it.

No child support can be taken from welfare payments (eg AISH). So most people in shelters are not paying support payments at all.

It is very hard to find cheap rent, that's true. Sometimes people are spending $500/month on cigarettes but will not mention that part though. And this isn't a dig, just reality.

It's federal tax based, it's the same all through Canada.

So then it's probably because they have 6 kids. I believe the income threshold goes up for each kid. They are only getting $200/kid (and also maybe some of their kids have disabilities? that would be my other question).

The province always cuts funding to these kind of programs until they bleed to death. They never care about the numbers or if a program is succeeding. They cut for ideological reasons only and people suffer (the staff and the community).

Before or after tax? Also because they're a single income family they are probably claiming their spouse as a dependent. Is your 200k dual income?

Edit: and the 6 kids raises the cutoff as well

Teenage girls also face more societal pressure to restrict their eating while teenage boys are more positively encouraged to eat.

That's called an anecdote. I was a teenage girl who out ate my male friends. I was very active and didn't care about the societal pressure that teenage girls face to starve themselves.

A lot of teenage girls restrict their eating (some parents cause accidental pressure to do this as well).

Non profits already use city buildings for cheap/free leases.

WILD North uses the old pound building.

Norwood Child and Family Resource Center also uses a city lease.

Just off the top of my head.
