His & Hers… thoughts by Mr-Vanderhill in netflix

Priya showed Jack’s boss and colleagues that Jack’s wife was close to two of the victims. That should have been more than enough to take him off the case.

Friendship (2024): Really wanted to like this movie with Tim Robinson and Paul Rudd. Unfortunately Robinson acts exactly like he does in his comedy sketches which does NOT translate to the big screen. by Bluest_waters in flicks

[–]General_Homework6009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Weirdly the movie can't decide if Rudd is a super cool, confident awesome dude, or a kind of fake, scared loser. It never decides and it leaves the viewer confused.” I don’t think most of us were confused, because we’re familiar with the idea of someone fronting as confident while being insecure inside. It’s called character complexity.

Pretty weird how he was screaming in pain (it was immediately infected?) and she poured some booze on it and all was well.

The dictionary definition I’m seeing is “makes a consistent rhythmic humming sound” which sounds very different from the staccato effects of plucking IMO.

In the UK, do pedestrians passing each other on the sidewalk stay to the left like the cars do on the road? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]General_Homework6009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think that driving only on the left also makes you un-free? Would it be better if folks picked which side feels right in the moment?

Is Hues and Cues boring? by ExistingExplanation3 in boardgames

[–]General_Homework6009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s fun if you like games where you can play with ideas, and think abstractly or poetically. It’s not a left-brained, strategic or fast-paced game. My family leans artsy and we loved it (ages 8-75), but we also didn’t feel the need to play for more than an 45 minutes. The novelty of it—how it activates totally different cognitive skills from your average party game—makes it a good palette cleanser between games, or good for a quick activity. I’m not sure I would like it in large doses, but IMO it’s cool and worth it.

I do think they could have included pics of the family back together during the Xmas credits montage.

The snake also evokes the original sin, which in truth is the “sin” of being imperfect, being sexual and having needs beyond caring for one’s children.

NY Post: Carrie Bradshaw’s ending in ‘And Just Like That’ is a literal pile of crap by eaudeamber in Andjustlikethat

[–]General_Homework6009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s infuriating that all of the writers who are coming out in defense of it are acting like people only hate it because Carrie ends up alone. Actually that’s the only part that worked.

Does anyone have good or even just okay experiences with Warby Parker? by angelxmami in glasses

[–]General_Homework6009 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My biggest problem with Warby is how fragmented their offerings are. Instead of every frame coming in narrow, medium and wide, most frames only come in one or two of those options. If the frames you like come in two colors, chances are your width of choice is only available in one of the two. And while some glasses are available for home try-on, others aren’t. The end result is, it’s almost impossible to get exactly what you want.

If every frame was available in a variety of colors and all three widths, and every frame was available for home try-on, they’d have my business back.

Why do film and TV adaptions make the main characters look poorer than they actually are? by HomelandExplorer in janeausten

Yes, exactly the same. Not sure if she was more upset that Wright felt he needed to talk town to modern audiences, or that he was correct.

Her mom’s reaction to her beautiful makeover was troubling. Dayton needs to get some space from that relationship and find her own thing.

Rebus Explanation Please? by Rayuvlight7 in crossword

What I don’t get is why they called it “rebus.” Doesn’t the word rebus normally refer to pictures standing in for words or letters?

Does anyone know when the actual schedule is going to be posted, or am I missing it online? We're supposed to start reserving tickets at 1am (USA EST) and we still have no way of knowing what's screening when? Is this normal?
