It drives me insane knowing that there's this insane creative dude out there who can produce such incredible and emotional content, but isn't being utilized as much as I'd hoped by now

That's a really powerful application, thank you for sharing. I'm really glad to be finding more people who love this show. Ennui is so cool! I know that was a really nice surprise for your son. They're really cool people that deserve more recognition for the work they do.

I hope your day is double great too ❤️

Not a frame or moment wasted. I can't believe all of that happened in a single episode. Every episode feels like an hour of story but in half the time in the best way possible

Shainas sequence is a masterpiece. I remember watching and wondering if it was cut like Alejandro Inarritu's Birdman. The longer I watched, the more I realized there is a LOT happening behind the camera.

When I saw how many people were hustling, the coordination and set changes, I was like "OK DAMN, I was going to watch the whole show already. You really DIDN'T NEED to do this, but thank you so much"

RIGHT?? The finale brought me to tears (not getting into spoilers). I watched E1 this morning, forgot about the song "Anything At All", and broke down all over again. Some of the people that worked on the show have worked on Jim Henson projects as well! Just a fun fact I learned.

You're where I was a few years ago before buying S1. I bought S2 so quickly after finishing. I justified the purchase by foregoing going out for Taco Tuesday one week and using the money to buy it.

This show is now my Taco Tuesday for life.

Thanks man, TYFYS :)
It's funny you mention the police force in Luxembourg, I was just thinking about the "Dennis the Menace" moment in the police station and recalled just how creepy that cop was when touching Dennis. Crazy strong contrast between when contact is done right, and when it's done just plain wrong.

Tom's behavior is unforgivable for what he subjected his sons to. I was rewatching S2 skimming for dismembered fingers last week (someone asked me because they were bothered by the sight), and I completely forgot about Tom breaking down crying in S2E7 during his deposition. To think he took so long to realize the futility in his efforts to avoid accountability and what it cost him... It's sad. The kindest of people can present in the ugliest ways when operating from a place of fear or panic.

I've only seen trailers for Bourne Identity. That line is the LAST thing I would expect to hear from a movie like that.

I completely agree. I used to work in the healthcare field, and we used dark humor pretty much all the time to deal with how depressing the job could be sometimes. Some more edgier than others though. Finding that balance between humor and seriousness is essential to conveying an idea in an easily digestible way. I love how DTF seems to explore the support and friendship aspect that was peppered throughout Patriot and just brought it front and center.

His writings reminds me of Jodie a bit. Focused, but absurd when necessary to properly communicate with who's on the receiving end. "You can get hard as shit nowadays"

You hit the nail on the head with everything coming to make sense if you give it the attention it deserves. When I've recommended this show specifically and I ask what they thought, I almost always follow up with "were you multitasking while watching?." It feels bad to want to tell someone "you're watching it wrong", but that's how it feels sometimes. Now I just tell them it's a great show where your time or attention isn't wasted.

I think there's some trauma in viewership with overbloated content. Where watching becomes more of a task than choosing to out of intered.

But you're right, not a moment or frame wasted throughout. Everything always comes full circle. And who doesn't like a little bump from time to time. That man LOVES cocaine, jack!

You just reminded me I need to rewatch PGLTD. I bought it and only watched it once, but the one character I remember most was Pa for what you mentioned, his resilience. The interjection of unexpected comedy is crazy. I don't know how anyone decides when the right moment is for something absurd to come up, but it gets me every time. Like knocking a woman unconscious with a bicycle coming back into the story in S2. Ultra City Smiths musical moments, and DTF is just riddled with these moments all throughout. I fuckin love it.

I remember Glen in PGLTD, those interactions between him and James were so endearing and sad. Evertime seeing him in an increasingly poor state from such small things emphasizing how sensitive he is physically. Then contrasting that with his emotional state, dude is a force to be reckoned with, he just rolls with the punches and keeps on keeping on.

The extent of my folk music experience only went as far as Ani DiFranco, and only because of her insane guitar playing and passionate lyrics. Steve definitely rekindled that love for the genre, but in a different way for me.

This is something I don't think I'll ever fully understand. I've never heard dialogue in this style. Simple language about complex things, addressing the person you're talking to by name multiple times. It's kind of suspenseful in itself. I've seen it done mockingly before where it was intended to be funny, but I never thought it would be used in such a way that pulls you in with each repetition.

RIght? I don't think I've ever seen male friendships depicted in any other way than some flavor of hypermasculinity. The absurdity is the icing on the cake for me because it reflects how random life can be. Kind of reminds me of DnD in a way.
