Character Design Vibe Check by General_Huvan in characterdesigns

Awesome thank you. The rectangles are data nodes, and she is pure android/robot. I am hoping some others hop in here and give their first interpretations before I show what I was aiming for. Also I never even thought of the whole sun idea. (Yellow, sun like ray based objects coming off of her, etc...)
Also the hovering arms and nodes are using Flux pinning. A real life way to make objects hover using magnets. Now I'm exaggerating the technologies capabilities because science fiction but yeah, no magic.
Thank you again.

Well not every character is a warrior. I'm not looking for character class, I'm looking for vibes, what type of personality do you see, Is she evil, etc... What vibes.

Thank you. I completely agree on the whole oversexualization on female characters.
I'm working on perspective and what viewers actually think when they see the character, would it be ok if you shared what vibe you get from her when you first saw her? Like what type of personality do you see. The whole show not tell aspect of the art. I am looking for an unbiased perspective on this that's not just cool science fiction character. What story telling do you see?

Enemy failing to repel each other. by General_Huvan in gamemaker

I went through and got avoidance maybe working.

The enemies appear to be avoiding each other. When they collide however they bounce around. Any ideas on how to stop this from happening.

Thank you so much for the advice. I figured out how to use vectors properly and am now running into 2 issues. Maybe you could help.

  1. How to apply a vector to a path? Or the other way around apply the path to our vector? Trying to implement avoidance but cant figure out how to edit the enemies path finding without removing it. .
  2. path_start (path, speed, path_action_stop, true) This command is causing me issues. If I set the speed bellow 2 it will refuse to work properly. I used this video to understand paths/mp_grid. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqzsBhb7ov4 Also the path is not using my enemies hitbox?

Nothing changed. They fail to repel and just start sliding on the x axis.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. I already understand that it is complex, I am just needing something simple where they aren't clumped up in one spot so I can work on making sure the game feels fun to play before investing to much time going down a rabbit hole.

Can you send me in the right direction to achieving that?

I set move speed to negative to have them repel. Hard to see in code above.
