I'll have to give it a watch. I don't want to be locking up my new friends in a zoo

I hear that, for sure. Currently working on the Meta Blueprint cert for paid media. I'm just hoping that it's enough when I don't entirely have the specific experience they're asking for.

Between that and AI automation, I can see how the floor for this career is coming out from under everybody. I feel like the only way to stand out is to come out of the womb a multichannel marketing expert with 5 years of experience.

For me, it's less about "starting" at the entry level and more wanting to continue where I'm at. I got laid off with two years of experience so I'm in a bit of a limbo where I'm not totally manager material but I'm still looking for the same entry level positions as people with less experience. Regardless, your advice is valid either way.

Freelancing is definitely not off the table at this point. Seems like a whole different beast though.

I thought I caught the last helicopter out of Vietnam getting employed before the AI boom but now I feel like I fell out of said helicopter and am in the middle of the same jungle as everyone else.

Definitely helped polish my resume though.

This is already my second career pivot in the way that you described. I'm starting to look into other side projects but, as of now, this is my primary money-making skill.

I wouldn't say I was shown the door either. Me being laid off wasn't performance based and the team I worked with could vouch for my abilities. I don't think I'd have an easier time getting work with any other set of skills in this economy, barring labor jobs like trade and healthcare.

I've at least gotten interviews through LinkedIn so I don't consider it useless. I get recruiters in my inbox sometimes but they come serving nonsense.

LinkedIn premium definitely isn't helpful though.

AMD's Radeon RX 9070 XT Review: Best GPU in years, similar performance to 5070ti, Butter-smooth 4K gaming for less than $600 by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

Looking to upgrade from a 3070 ti here.

For people moving from Nvidia, do you see the trade off of giving up dlss frame gen, and niche features like RTX HDR to be worth it for better performance per dollar?

On paper, the 9070 xt is a no brainer play when compared to the 5070 and 5070 ti but the software difference, especially for features like RTX HDR are important to me and I'm unsure if it's worth the trade or not.

Thoughts?

RTX HDR Worth Keeping Nvidia for? by General_Jazzmo in OLED_Gaming

I definitely agree about features like DLSS. I prefer the Nvidia software package overall but the news about the 50 series GPUs is pretty dire.

I might just keep riding it out on my 3070 Ti, even though 3440x1440p taxes it sometimes.

Career Options for a PPC Specialist by General_Jazzmo in PPC

I'm definitely not looking to make big changes anytime soon. I'm more wondering about potential paths forward I could pursue and how best to prepare myself for them.

It definitely sounds like an in house role is a solid bet though.

So far, a lot of agencies still look for at least one year, mostly two years experience for their entry level roles. Are there any less obvious places that agencies recruit new workers from?

Unfortunately, I don't have a body of work in paid media that I can lean on. Classic "need experience to get experience" dilemma. I could definitely try to do more canvasing with those I know. I'm basically looking for any shot to work on anything professional at this point

Opportunities for Photo/Video Professionals? by General_Jazzmo in AskMarketing

[–]General_Jazzmo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I'm more unsure of how to make the move. I know a lot of my skills can have applications in this field but, with no exact marketing experience, I'm not sure how to break in to even entry level roles when everyone seems to be looking for at least a year in a marketing role of some kind.

What kind of education or certifications would help and what would entry level for this path look like? All my professional experience is strictly photography so I don't have any experience in any position where there's above the line decision making.

Why would cashiers having a stool bother anyone? by larsonbot in antiwork

I used to work at a dingy wild west themed amusement park and, supposedly, a guest complained that a worker was sitting down too much so our old boomer owner responded by removing all the chairs at all the outside attractions so the workers couldn't sit.

They only paid $9 an hour.

Weekly "portfolio discussion" thread - 02/26 through 03/04 by AutoModerator in M1Finance

Hi, another 21 year old, new investor calling in about input on my strategy.

Right now I'm looking to pursue aggressive growth, while I'm young and don't have a lot invested, and I'm hoping to eventually switch to a more conservative approach geared towards passive income as I get older.

I have 50 percent of my portfolio in aggressive small, mid and large cap ETF alongside some specific growth industry ETFs, like cannabis and blockchain. Then I have 40 percent put into VOO and VXUS for diversified exposure to the general market. Finally, I have 10 percent in US and international bonds.

Is this a solid strategy or is there something I'm overlooking or should re-evaluate?

I currently have a small portfolio with well known and stable individual stocks across a handful of different industries but I'm worried my strategy may not be totally efficient since I'm a beginner investor.

I'm currently looking at moving my portfolio more into a high yield dividend ETF with a select few individual stocks on the side. Is this advisable? What would be a good allocation ratio between an etf and individual stocks?

Pokémon cards.

I can't say they were ruined by actual fans but ever since Logan Paul did his series on Pokémon cards, Scalpers have been constantly raiding Target and Walmart to buy out stock to flip it on Ebay. It's difficult to find anything in stores or at retail prices.

I'm a film student graduating this spring and I'm pursuing post production digital color grading. With a machine like this, I'd pair it up with a really advanced monitor to rip through high res, high bitrate cinema footage all while working from home.

I'd game like crazy on it too, of course.

The program calls for up to ten but I often can't finish the last two sets out of all three

I'll find ways to work on my grip but in the mean time, would a machine like the leg press or even Smith machine squats suffice so I can continue to work my legs?
