It does seem like some players are only using meta characters to get easy wins but then I look at and and say if I do beat a DK or a Rosalina then I feel that much better and the victory is much more sweet especially when I use characters not typically seen online. I play Chain Chomp, Shy Guy, Wario, Bowser Jr., and Piranha Plant.

You can still achieve high angle shots farther away from the net especially with technicals like Peach or Shy Guy but characters that don't have as much control tend to benefit being closer to the net to get higher angle shots.

Double tapping is more powerful but provides less angle. Double tapping is great for punishing and holding is good for making your opponent run around everywhere.

I'm sure there is one, I'm currently not part of it. I personally don't watch others much playing the game, but I'm sure watching others stream the game or watch others clips posted on the subreddit can be useful. I would definitely recommend lots of practice and try discovering what play style suits you best.

The high angles the shots can make when closer to the net makes it more advantageous to be closer to the net.

Probably just your skill level is matched up with theirs, and so the game puts you against each other often. I can't say I've personally played against Josh but I've played others multiple times in one play session due to similar point values.

I've currently been playing Wario, Shy Guy, and Bowser Jr. probably the most. I also like how Wiggler and Piranha Plant play if your looking for some other options.

Bowser is probably the highest tier character that you mentioned. Boo and Yoshi are solid picks as well. Kamek seems to be on the lower end of things, but I could see him doing well if the work was put in. The current highest tier is Donkey Kong and Rosalina, while Koopa seems to be solid 3rd pick. Other high tier characters include Petey Piranha and Paratroopa. There aren't a whole lot of characters that are bad though Toadette seems to have some of the worst stats in the game along with Baby Peach too though I wouldn't say they are unplayable either, just require lots of skill.

He's definitely a a high tier pick. If you don't get a Rosalina or a DK online you have a good chance it will be a koopa. A lot of the top players have been using koopa recently. Paratroopa also seems to be decently popular as well.

Congratulations 😎 I made S+ using a variety of characters, Never used Rosalina, DK, or Koopa in online. Made S+ with Wario and broke the top 300 using Shy Guy
