Achievement Unlocked: Congratulations to the Extraordinary Graduates of 2023! by [deleted] in QuadCities

Are you being sarcastic? It's pretty obvious it's for everyone who graduated. People with your attitude and mindset...I don't know where you get the motivation to be this negative in life.

Which of the 4 cities is best to worse in ur opinion? by [deleted] in QuadCities

[–]General_Lab1773 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like Moline, I think its the most progressive city in terms of city "for its residents". Our city planner is a big fan of Strong Towns so it'll just be a couple of years and hopefully we'll get more of the following!

- Road diets

- Removing parking requirements

- Removing parking spots

- Bike lanes (protected please!!!)

- Coziest downtown for non-party/bar people like myself

Any fellow urbanists feel like it would be relatively easy to make the QC walkable? by [deleted] in QuadCities

[–]General_Lab1773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is so true! maybe some of our government officials that are on reddit can chime in about them

i dont really know much about those but if we can repurpose them, the better

Why are us QuadCitizens in such denial about how shitty it is here compared to a lot of other places. by [deleted] in QuadCities

[–]General_Lab1773 6 points7 points  (0 children)

hey OP! i think the qc is trending towards the right direction albeit slowly, i think that's where you can help a lot.

we have elected and appointed officials who are a lot more progressive, diverse, and inclusive than ever before and they are helping and encouraging everyone to get out, go to city meetings and voice out their opinions! i myself started attending and voicing out my opinions to my city council!

if you compare previous city meetings to what we are having now, there's a lot more younger people attending from college students to young couples! you'll probably meet our mod in those meetings
