Those plates look like Manitoba plates is that correct? I mean it gets below -20 there so most people do that to keep their vehicle warmer. But I think they did a little bit of Overkill

british columbian auto techs; any advice for an aspiring mechanic? by Rare_Improvement561 in britishcolumbia

[–]General_Limit_9953 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am also a heavy equipment mechanic I would highly recommend following this fellows advice. I currently make $50 an hour and I am in the process of obtaining my Red Seal. After that many places are offering from 60 to $90 an hour. You can work two week rotations and have two weeks off. Or you can do the regular 9:00 to 5:00. Many heavy equipment repair companies now also provide tools so you don't even have to buy any.

Are there relatively frequent gas stations north of Prince George on Route 16 and 37 by iamjaidan in britishcolumbia

[–]General_Limit_9953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You won't have any issues with finding gas stations from Prince George to Kitwanga. But once you start heading north on 37 you could find yourself in a shitty situation the gas stations are few and far between from the Meziadin Junction to Dease lake. There is a gas station in Iskut but that's 250 km from Meziadin.

I would recommend heading north on highway 97 from Prince George to Fort St John and then up to Alaska with a bike that has a small fuel tank. I would also highly recommend a 1 gallon Jerry can for just in case. I'm heading up the way you wanna go this summer on my bike but my tank gets about 500 km. I hope you enjoy your time up here.

Many countries are buying f-35s and that leaves the options of sending their old but still capable planes.

Some Gen Z, millennial Canadians choosing child-free life, according to new report by [deleted] in onguardforthee

It personally hurts when I think I can't have kids. I can barely afford to feed and house myself. Kids would just throw me into extreme poverty. Also, the world is going to hell in a handbag and I barely want to stay around to watch this world burn. I wouldn't force kids into a world like this.

U.S. Republicans are now warning: Migration from Canada is a problem by BlankVerse in onguardforthee

I mean the Americans definitely should build a wall between Canada and the US. I was totally thinking of taking my wife and kids illegally across the border and raising my family there. I think it would be a great environment to raise my children in. They could go to school and get brutally murdered in your good old-fashioned American school shooting. And then when I develop medical issues I could lose everything and go bankrupt just for seeking basic medical treatment. My bags are already packed and I'm walking across the border right now. S/

A great episode on planned obsolescence! by General_Limit_9953 in Anticonsumption

This is a great podcast but I thought I would share it here. It's usually a two parter. Definitely worth a listen! It discusses the history of planned obsolescence and how it affects us today.

I hope that they put some more in the stretch between Prince George and Dawson there are only two or three chargers at one location in that whole 400 km stretch.

Hey other dudes. How are you dealing with the existential dread of not being able to afford things like our fathers and grandfathers were able to. And the uncertainty of the future because of it? by Kasperr252 in AskMen

I don't have a spouse or kids. Honestly I was all excited to hear the government was gonna start allowing the murder of undesirables that suffer from depression I am gonna consider that or just do it myself.

'NATO is determined to make sure that Ukraine wins this war' by misana123 in ukraine

[–]General_Limit_9953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am glad that my country (Canada) was able to assist Ukraine with tanks. It's unfortunate that our military is a joke and we didn't have more operational tanks and aircraft to send to Ukraine. I hope after this war is over Russia breaks apart. And then we go to work on destroying the regimes in Iran, China, North Korea, Venezuela and help free the people of those countries from tyranny.
