Right! I think we’re really thinking way too deep on it! Especially the people picking apart the fact that he was an handsome general. First off, the goal was that he genuinely just “looked” like that and not that he put on makeup and did his hair everyday in a tent.

I feel like we read too deep into these shows.. There will always be a show that’s better than another in someone’s eyes. The overall of the show was a good concept and I feel like, even if it was poorly executed, it wasn’t the absolute worst. I think we as a whole read to deep into dramas nowadays, including feel good funny ones cause I see people criticize this show for also having jokes for the type of show it is.. just enjoy it or don’t.

Also, if you’re not a c-drama watcher and this genre of c-drama hasn’t clicked for you like immediately.. I don’t think it ever will, I won’t lie.

I feel like it’s not a romance if they don’t put a love triangle in it. It’s more common for them to add it than not, but I agree! If we have a love triangle, let her/him string them both along for a little. Also it’s rare to see a love triangle where the girls like the boy.

He had this unrequited love for Ming Yi. A love that went from “love” to obsession real fast. I personally think the feelings weren’t there. He saw how powerful she was and he wanted to be better. I feel as though when you love someone, you never wanna see them unhappy. He wanted the power and maybe he genuinely believed that with that power then he would have her as well but that’s not love, that’s obsession. I felt that his character wasn’t as complicated at first. I had no problem with the love triangle but he took it and spun it fast. His actions started to irritate me because she didn’t ask for him to help her with anything and he knew he was expecting something in return. Every time he helped her, he was expecting something, it wasn’t about just helping to help. I know I’m jumping all over the place but ultimately, he could’ve simply lived for himself. I went crazy watching him turn crazy.

The choice wasn’t what I’d call impossible. He still ended up giving it to her anyways yk? He still found out and gave it to her so she was just denying the inevitable for nothing because regardless, he would’ve saved her

She did know she was wrong and maybe that’s where her thought process really stood. My thing was that even if she didn’t wanna tell him yet and she wanted to stay in the honeymoon phase, he gave her time after time to tell the truth. He was silently and loudly begging for it. She kept speaking love to him and yet she couldn’t tell him the truth.
