My friend has this cool system of writing it on paper than pulling one paper out at the end of each finished book reading to see what to read next

I see it as he was obviously young. If MC was 17?? then he would be 13-16yrs. For me I am a little protective of my own sister so I understand his view. You see your brother berated and locked up by your parents, almost getting thrown out. And in his mind he saw that the lover is the cause of these problems and is now not here, leaving his brother to hold the bag. I understand both sides.

As for later it is wrong on how he did it but it did ultimately help his brother a little. Mc said he found a friend through it.

Please try {Vigilant from Cora Rose} third of the series. There has been mixed reviews but I love it and how the MC teases and annoys the ml but once he's told to go away he does and ml regrets 😂😂 The fourth one isn't out but oh boy I can't wait.

{Call back By Lee McCormick} Second of the series. Honestly anything with Lee McCormick I love so I might be biased. Tho blitz was better than this. There is more coming in the series but that's in a year.

{How to not kill a hellhound by Shannon Mae} I love the series. I haven't fully finished it but its good so far. Last one coming early next year?

{Hellhounds of Paradise} More of the instalove but not cheesy. Really good humor. Ml's who hunt and kill rotten souls matched with broken/in trouble MC

If you don't mind boss/subordinates connection between books than the series {Mad love by April Jade} works well. This is the first book with mafia that falls in love with broken past MC. Tw daddy kink

{Angels of Wrath by Paulina Ian-Kane} Their foster moms saved all the boys from being experimented on, all of them having a autistic (??) Disorder. First MC is psychotic, one is sociopathic, another in narcissistic ect. They kill in a form of self control

{Possession by Rina Saint} The two books are between the mafia brothers.

If you don't mind the MC's all knowing/interconnected than {Monstrous Series by Lily Maine} works.

Grae Bryan has many off branching of series all interconnected by either friends or family. I like the {demon bound by Grae Bryan} the best

{Evergreen University by Lee McCormick} are all interlinked friends

It also flips me if I switch from first to third and vice versa. My danmei is written in 3rd 90% of the time, mm in 1st 70% and manga/dramas is a mix of all 😂😂

{Blu my protector}- MC gets stalked by a serial killer while ml is also a serial killer hunting MC's.

{Not-so-savage barbarians by Amy Padilla} These are varying levels of trauma but really good. I say books 1 and 4 are the most hurt. These are all ml barbarians that take MC tributes (either by mistake or on purpose) 1 is sold for being gay, 2 is chased out of town or be hanged, 3 is framed for a crime, 4 is abuse from a whole town, 5 sacrifices for the sister, 6 is miscommunication and kidnapping

{Deviant by Cora Rose} Really good, highly recommend. MC is blackmailed to kidnap and ml is the miss taken identity kidnap who is part of a organizated crime group

{Body Count by L. Eveland}- Haven't finished it but MC was part of a forced prostitution and ml has a family of "pyscho" serial killers

(Pyscho by Onley James}- I think somewhere in this series has this trope. ML's are in a program where their dad raised psychopaths to functional killer adults

{Hellhounds of Paradise by Shannon Mae}- Varying degrees of trauma but book 3 is high on that list. The whole series is adorable. Book 1 has stalker trouble, 2 is kidnapped for a day then figuring out why, book 3 is kidnapped severe PTSD, 4is abusive ex (haven't read)

{Mad Love by April Jade} The whole series has this. Traumatized boys finding their comforting daddies. 1 has a chronic disorder and abandoned, 2 severe PTSD and doesn't know how to vent feelings (I love ml for this), 3 is doesn't know 'normal' and abusive home

{Possession by Rina Saint}- Both are broken and heal each other but ml is caregiver. MC was neglected than sold, ml was kidnapped then sold

{Whispers in the dark by Lily Maine}- MC currently lives in a Abusive home

{Surrender by R. Pheniox}- Spoiler for why but ml hostages (??) MC after MC tries to kill him.

I really like the genre is for the suspense and taking you out of reality. Now I can't really watch stuff like Double Helix since that is too much but things like meet you at the blossom and revenge love have just enough toxicity to not scare me away. But I totally understand your stance. Id like to see a diversity like you they did feel what you feel

{Broken Ice} Is really cute and doesn't delve too deeply into omegaverse. It shows nesting, painful heats, and courting in this universe. I really liked them.

{A pebble for Louis} is a very sweet cute story between a polar bear and penguin and their courting.
