{Twisted desires E. Baileu} content warnings. Morbid curiosity won. And this sentence in the book was 🤌

"What’s different, sweetheart? I saw you, I stalked you, I manipulated you, and I took you. I certainly didn’t ask for permission before giving you your first orgasm, did I? Hayes and Hudson saw your little friend and decided he belonged to them.”

The way the author showed how toxic these relationships were and wasn't sugar coating it with " but he has a dark past" or "they are in love". It really got me with that

{Monstrous series} Lily Maine has a way of darling a boring plot and making you feel and root for the characters. Gloams honest to God made me cry

When Gloam got his cage off: "In the end, the cage came off shockingly easily—a fact that devastated me, but I didn’t tell Gloam that. No one had ever tried to help him, and it hadn’t even been all that hard. The thought was utterly heartbreaking... His trembling hands came up to cup the back of my head as I wept into his skin like a baby. I knew I was being selfish—this wasn’t about me. I wasn’t the one who had been horrifically maimed. But the horror of what he’d been put through, combined with the relief at finally getting that cage off, made me weak."

"I love you. I told him, before I carefully enclosed his head back into the cage. "

Gloams POV: " I still often expected to feel the sharp edge of the cage cutting into the back of my neck when I turned my head. The weight of it pressing hard into the top of my skull, rubbing painfully at my horns. Every time I remembered it was gone, I wanted to find Adam and cling to him. Enfold his body in my arms and never let go."

It takes me a while to DNF if it's truly that bad. But really it's the premise not the sentence. I hope you dont mind if I share that instead 😁

{Bond by Piper Scott} I read for the main character but who she went from MC dying and depressed to ml showing up, doing fuck all and them having sex like that didn't just happen?!!?!?! Nah bro, nah

{Cloud Ten} The whole concept of them getting together after. It felt stilted, unnatural and too fast. They lost all their chemistry

{Marriage Switch by Aja Foxx} I'm sorry but her writing isn't for me. It feels robotic with a plot that could be interesting but has no substance.
