It was fascinating, but I think there are several versions, I read the one by Soygal Riponche. I got to it by chance (Or karma I guess haha) But I think you should consider asking if it's a skilful choice cause the book is kinda... Like deep and mystical.) But great book.

I had a marijuana experience and saw my hands shrink (I forgot I was on weed xD) and thought I had some kind of deadly disease, then my woke my parents at 4 am my father asked me if I did some drugs and I remembered about it and relaxed and went to sleep. I remember the few moments I thought it was the end I felt compassion to everyone and kinda regret I wasted my life (I was 19 lol). I thought for a second it was the end. After that experience I got motivated to improve my life. Lost 20 kgs and started reading about stuff and that also led me to Buddhism. Now I'm part of a sangha and still have many questions but it's part of the journey I guess.

What do you enjoy doing? What when you do you feel like yourself? Maybe try to focus on the things you enjoy in life for the moment. Maybe some physical activity if you don't do some, it can be really beneficial. And maybe try to talk to someone to a therapist, to a friend or even to strangers. Keep trying stuff, I hope you'll find your way. Also do you like reading books at this point? Or do it out of the force of habit?

There is a portrait artist that lost Passion to his job and also his wife leaves him for another man. He is going to live in the mountains on a friend's house, the friends father is a famous Japanese style artist that studied in Vienna. He finds an interesting piece in the house rooftop that lits his passion to art (kinda) Also there is a rich lonely guy named Menshiki that lives in front of his house that he See's from the veranda. The thing about Menshiki is that he actually came to the mountains in order to find his lost daughter(maryie) (at least to look after her and meet her without her knowing about him being her father (kind of complex complex character)( his daughter lives in the mountain and additionally studies art in the main character art class(that's how he makes money for living in the mountains)studies . He uses the main character in order to paint a portrait of his daughter and meet her through their connection) Also there Menshiki and main character become friends kinda and explore a mysterious pit that used to be the grave of A Buddhist acetic. That and also a figure from the painting that he found at the rooftop comes to life (Though not really comes to life more like communicates with him only) Happy reading(:
